When walking in the restaurant was clean and inviting, and we were greeted/welcomed by multiple staff. We’re from Wisconsin and just passing through so we won’t be back unless we’re in the area again, however if we do ever happen to be out this way I defintley would come back!
Service and food were both great! I was excited to try the pizza along with the cheese bread. Both arrived hot and fresh and were perfectly cooked. Spaghetti with meatball was also better than expected!
The only few things to note but that aren’t notable enough to take away from my rating is the bill can be a bit on the high side rather quickly (however they are upfront about their pricing including advising of an increase by $1 on some items that wasn’t posted on the menu yet and any restaurant is becoming more expensive due to inflation/increased operating costs so we knew roughly what we’d be spending) and they do charge 75¢ extra per side for things such as marinara sauce cup to go with the bread; then cleanliness wise in my opinion would be some ceiling tiles are showing their age and could use replacing as well as a fan that was beginning to collect some dust in it that should be cleaned off more regularly due to its location near the kitchen. The tiles and fan are something many people might not even notice which is why they don’t affect my rating especially as it’s more of a cosmetic thing versus overall service and quality, however I have a high attention to detail and can often spot things others might not. Management can’t make positive changes as easily if guests don’t let them know in what ways there might be room for improvement!
Outside of those few things though I was happy with our meal and would come back!

In my case even just upon walking in to an overall clean and inviting restaurant with polite, friendly, professional staff was enough right off the bat to start with 5 stars with the food becoming the next deciding factor. I leave many honest reviews of good, bad, or neutral at many of the places I visit to help support local business who do well and to help inform visitors or management of places that could use notable improvement. Before becoming aware of the available discount I had already planned to leave a 5 star review as long as the rest of our visit was acceptable. The only difference was it just made me leave a review now rather than sometime within the next couple days instead!

Waitresses Serviceexceptionally bad Management non stop talking about his recipes instead of resolving the food issues Resolution was never done...$10 off a bill of $100 wasn't resolution...all we wanted was the food we ordered to make it to our table...it never did! The story is way too long to tell This I will say, I am never going back to Charlews again! How on earth do they stay in business...oh, that's right they already closed one second one should follow suit...as to your response...you yourself know it was a lot more then the missing food ...it was your waitress she never came to our table once after she got our order and when I motioned for her she came up and said "what's up?" When I told her our twice ordered bread never made it to our table, our noodles never made it to our plates and I had a to go order to place she responded " yeah, I'll go tell a manager" when mgr showed up he told us all about his family history, pointed out pictures and made excuses for his salad girl being our waitress. He said he would bring the bread right out and add the noodles to my plate. he even took my plate... he did take the pizza order...another person brought my pizza, boxed food and no bread or pasta...he promptly asked us to pay and told us the tip wasn't for the waitress but for the whole restaurant which I politely added but once we saw none of the things we ordered or expected from manager still weren't corrected I was livid...all that talk from mgr was a distraction. Pizza wasn't even on our bill but I honestly told the guy who delivered it to our table and he got me a new bill which the terrible waitress brought...Mgr offered a 15% discount but we only received 10...it was a crazy horrible dinner out experience. for 3 meals and 2 drinks to cost over $100 at a pizza joint is one thing but we did not deserve the evening or service we received. I cannot imagine ever giving Charlew's another chance....BTW just to refresh your memory, charlew, your eggplant parm dinner used to be served nicely on a normal dinner plate spread out with the grated cheese and sauce and a nice small serving of spaghetti lying next to it...when Mary's ran the place...not in a banana split tray with a slice of mozz cheese...
Read moreCustomer service please? Maybe a fake smile or something? I'm disappointed in this place. We went out for a date night and walked into disrespect. The lady at the podium hasn't smiled once since we have walked in, she's dressed very unprofessional in leggings, and the one time she walked around to check on customers she asked if we needed anything else when we hadn't even gotten our food yet. When we said we were good she rolled her eyes and said "that's greaaattt" then walked away skipping 4 other tables.
My partners food came out 15 min before mine, it was burnt and the waitress put it down and immediately walked away. Didn't stop to ask if we needed anything. When my food came the guy was very polite and I asked for extra ranch. He was quick to grab it.
The best thing we have seen so far though is no sanitation practice at all. They have been clearing tables but not wiping them down at all. And same with the menus, my menu looked like it had been a place mat and covered in food. I will never be back here.

Partners food, more then half was so over cooked he couldn't eat it. When he went to get a drink he got cot off by two of the wait staff.
I got to watch two other customers have their meals completely forgotten and "lost in the system." The lady at the front end was cleaning off a table and blamed the missing foor on one of the other girls.
The wait staff heard me complaining and I watched one walk over to the manager and tell him. Both her and the manager looked over at my table. The manager then preceded to walk over to the girls standing by the door and tell them.
My partner then noticed the girl in leggings standing near our table not working and listening in on our conversation.
Will never eat here again. I'm not one to normally complain but this was the worst service I have ever had. I have work in customer service for 7 years. And I have a management business degree. But even without all that I know better how to treat you customers. Hopefully...
