El Jalapeño Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Anderson

Today my partner and I decided to stop in for a quick lunch treat before heading to Belk for a work shirt. Wow.....pleasantly surprised! The complimentary salsa verde(with salsa roja and queso!!! THREE SAUCES!)would be enough of a reason to go back. I ordered lunch special #10(pollo fundido) and my parner ordered the beef Burrito lunch special + 2 cheese quesadilla. The portions were PERFECT for lunch. Sometimes it's just too much of the sides or double the pollo/size, it was just right. The rice was also very flavorful.....you can taste seasoning and it's fragrant at the table. We also ordered a couple tecates and a small house margarita--honestly thought about getting a medium.....maybe another time lol the small was what is often a medium or large other places. The small house margarita was delicious. Tastes like the mix is made in house! Very fresh. Also the music was so good and fun. Not sure if it was a dance or pop station, but we both found ourselves really enjoying the music! We will be back again. And bury me in the salsa...

There has not been one single time I've left El Jalapeño and thought "that was not the very best Mexican cuisine I've ever had in my life and it is not an absolute miracle that Anderson, South Carolina of all places is lucky enough to have such an incredible restaurant with THE BEST STAFF and hospitality you could imagine being graced with."

In fact, I think the opposite 100% of the time.

This is hands down the best dining experience you're going to have if you have Mexican food on your heart and palette.

Do yourself a favor and come here multiple times a week like I do....

Visited this restaurant for the first time today. My wife and I plus our two young girls had a lovely experience. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The menu was extensive and seemed like a good value. When the food arrived it was presented well and had a ton of great flavor! Lots of tvs for watching sports as well. Give this place a chance! It appears to be under new management and they are doing an awesome job! This is our new favorite Mexican spot in town. Thank you for the great experience...
