The owner/operator acts very arrogant. When he was given several compliments, he acted very nonchalant. My husband and I were new customers in his restaurant and we thought the food was great. We came back several times and spent hundreds of dollars there. However, when it came down to a mix-up by his staff, he was unwilling to resolve the issue. This happened to be a call in order that was reviewed several times over the phone. Everything that was told to be put in the order was not. It was simple. I ordered two hashes that originally each comes with rice or potatoes, cheese and sour cream. These items come with the hash automatically and you do not have to ask for them in addition. Well, I was missing 2 sour creams, 2 sides of cheese, a side of rice and a side of potatoes; although, I verified that's what I wanted several times before we got off the phone. Being that we spent $59 and some change on our entire order, of course we wanted everything that came with it and for the order to be correct. In addition, my husband had to wait when he got there for the call in order to get ready when it should have already been ready. I spoke to the owner about the situation. He did not apologize, he proceeded to argue in front of customers and he belittled me. On top of that, it was just a small fix. It would not have cost him much of anything to make good on their mistake. We are certainly understanding people and realize there is nothing perfect in this world ... so we understand that mistakes sometimes happen. If he would have just said, "I'm sorry about that. I'll tell you what, the next hash you order is on us". or " I'll give you 5% off your next bill", or something in that nature, we would have been satisfied. Obviously, he didn't not care how we felt or keeping us as customers. I believe the owner needs some additional training on excellent customer service through Chick-fil-A's customer service class. In addition, he has permanently lost us as customers and we will encourage anyone that we know not to go. His actions leads us to believe that he is a racist. If you look around his restaurant he doesn't have very many, if any, diverse staff members. Since this incident, my husband and I have heard several comments in reference to the owner being a racist and we've also read several comments from reviews where he has treated diverse customers badly. That's so sad in 2016!!! Oh yeah, the restaurant is constantly running...

Visited 5-17 at 11 when they opened. Order was taken quickly, and we sat down. One note about the menu. Mini corn dogs can't just be ordered. You gotta get a kid's meal. Kinda weird. Why can't we just order 5 to 20 of these by itself?
Anyway moving on, food came reasonably quick, everything was hot except the Mac and cheese which was luke warm. I would have liked it hot, but I'm just grateful it's not microwaved. I'm looking at you Raines of Williamson ๐
Honestly though, the sides were great ๐๐ป sweet potato fries were the bomb, regular fries good and well seasoned. Mac and cheese and sweet potato casserole were some of the best I've ever had out. Really impressive. Oh and the cornbread wasn't sweet, but was good and buttery so it surprised me as well.
The problem comes with the bbq though. It had an off taste, kinda sour or something. That was just the pulled pork, we also got brisket and boy was that disappointing. It tasted more like jerky which might have been good if it wasn't so damn dry. Also where is the fat? We absolutely love brisket fat, but there was none.
The sauce was the same, kind of an off sour taste. I thought maybe our bottle was old but the others were the same. The mustard sauce wasn't so bad, but if prefer more honey mustard where this was more regular mustard. The wife did like the vinegar sauce though.
All in all I can def see myself ordering family sides here, the bbq just didn't fit our taste at all sadly. Price was on the high side, if you want value you gotta go to little pigs at their jumbo pork plate is under $13 which feeds the wife, kid and myself. Here we got brisket/pork combo plate 1 drink and a kids meal and two toasted buns for almost $35. Brisket of course costs...
ย ย ย Read moreSlightly above average. The ribs I ate were slightly overcooked but very tasty. Pulled pork is of average quality and taste. The standard bbq sauce is very watery but tasted good. The mustard base is substandard pretty much tastes 99% like straight mustard, not like the carolina gold thats traditional in sc. Sides, mac and cheese pie, adequate, too much cheese but tastes good. Cole slaw, this was a vile vinager drenched cabbage salad, disgusting. Collards, also vile, worst sugar sweetened collards I have ever tasted, again, not traditional southern collards. The fried okra was wonderful, seasoned well crisp outside, not over cooked or slime, just perfect. Great BBQ is almost nonexsistan in the sc upstate now. Better than little pigs and light-years better than creekside which tastes like the prefrozen buckets of bbq they sell at sams. Good for anderson but not one of the best in the state. I would recommend for our area. Its is becoming more and more evident, I grew up in Charleston sc and spent time in and around Kingstree, dukes bbq, all of the bessenger family restaurants, and wards near Sumpter, some of the best in the whole state, people in the sc upstate have literally no taste when it comes to good bbq. I think they would be fine with gas station bbq sandwiches. Sorry but its true. @pompous pig, reading through all of your replies to customers you are arrogant and unaccepting of criticism, there was not a punch of sugar, I would bet it was a cup, and it doesn't matter what you put in that cole slaw it's disgusting. Will not be coming back and I am reducing the score based on your arrogance your customers voice their experience with you and you consistently deflect...
