LJS use to be my favorite place to go if my family & I were going out for dinner. I'd grown up going here with my parents & grandparents. I don't know what has happened but the food is no longer edible. Mind you the recipes have stayed the same but the employees no longer take the time to prepare it to the original standards they once had. We went there last night after my daughter's dance practice,to get dinner to take home. I was very disappointed when we arrived home. The fish had a horrible after taste, only achieved from lack of properly cleaning deep fryers & changing the grease. The shrimp was clearly cooked in a separate fryer, because it actually tasted better. The Fry's were under cooked & also had the filthy grease after taste. The slaw was so dry you couldn't eat it. I don't know if someone forgot to put the dressing in it or it had been left sitting out & dried out. The chicken planks were undercooked & slightly pink inside. After spending nearly $30 the only think salvageable was the shrimp. We will not be returning! This isn't the first time there have been issues, never this severe, but it will be the last time! It's quite sad that a once great place to take my kids & family for dinner has truly become a greasy...
Read moreWe came in the drive thru, the car in front orders then every time we tried the speaker wasn't working, so we were told to come froward, was told the speaker goes in and out, that should have been the first sign too leave. We get our order, please note the young lady at window very pleasant. We get back to Hotel and I have no grilled shrimp in my order and thank God I didn't! My I'm a Cancer patient if I would have eaten that OMG. My Husband was so sick after eating those Shrimp, we spent our last two days of vacation in hotel with Him sick and because I can't drive at this time, and In a unfamiliar area, I felt so helpless, the person who takes care of me, I couldn't help. I removed the top off his drink too try to let him drink something, and black stuff was floating in it. Like machine need cleaning. We're from South Florida, we go to Long John Slivers, all the time, but myself nor my husband will never go again. Thanks for ruining my first Vacation since I been...
Read moreThere are people asking things like “who’s out there keeping Long John Silver’s and/or Arby’s open?” and I’ve got to admit that the answer is ME. I love Long John Silver’s, even though many of them are terrible. It’s not their fault though. Most of them are combined with Taco Bell, or KFC, or A&W, and the LJS food never gets the love it deserves because people would rather have Taco Bell. I understand it but I just don’t get it.
THIS Long John Silver’s, however, is a standalone location and it seriously shines. The staff was amazing- friendly, helpful, and polite. There was a woman working the register and running to the back to put meals together and a fella with tattoos who got me my food, and their energy was just so contagious. At some point, the drink machine left a puddle on the floor, but they had someone on it in mere moments.
As for the food, everything was perfect. It all tasted fresh, arrived nice & hot - except for the slaw, of course - and really filled me up.
I’ll definitely plan to stop here every time I’m on my way through Anderson and I’m in need of some delightful food. I genuinely wish more LJS locations were...
