I’ve been going to Sophie’s crepes for 10+ years across all former locations from Towson to Charles street but I will never go back after my last experience.
I occasionally drive an hour out of my way from Frederick to Annapolis since the other locations closed. I specifically enjoy the thanksgiving crepe. On my last visit I drove an hour to get crepes while three months pregnant and really had to use the restroom when I arrived. They informed me, that due to policy they wouldn’t allow me use the restrooms (even though I have in the past while visiting after explaining my specific situation ) .
I told them I’ve been a customer for 10+ years and was pregnant and would be quick, but the person working the register could have cared less about my situation. She seemed more intent on enforcing policy than accommodating customer needs. I’ve always thought the thanksgiving crepe was delicious and used to always recommend Sophies but there’s something about bad customer service that makes the food taste horrible.
I will never recommend Sophies again or travel to get food from them due to this customer service issue. I was sad when there other locations closed but now I understand why. I’m not even sure it’s legal to serve food and not have a place to use the restroom or wash your hands. There does appear to be a quality hit to since when I first got hooked on them back in...
Read moreWe were visiting Annapolis and decided to try Sofi’s Crepes for the first time, but unfortunately, it will also be the last.
I ordered a Nutella and banana crepe, while my husband chose the Suzette. My biggest issue was that the crepe advertised as Nutella clearly did not contain real Nutella . instead, it had a cheap, tasting chocolate spread. It’s dishonest and misleading to advertise Nutella but serve a low-quality substitute, assuming customers won’t notice the difference. If you’re going to market something as Nutella, people expect the real thing anything less feels deceptive and disappointing.
As for the Suzette crepe, my husband gave it a 5/10. It lacked flavor and was basically empty, far from what you'd expect from a crepe at a specialty spot.
On top of that, the place was super hot with no indoor seating. Outside, it was so hot it was impossible to sit and enjoy anything. Overall, the experience was uncomfortable and...
Read moreEdited: August 2023/ Wow. Just wow! Such a great local spot. Hands down the best crepes I have had. There is this location and the one in Severna park and this one is 100% better. They are so friendly here and get crepes out fast but still at a high standard. They are also a bit less expensive than the one in Severna park too which is much appreciated.
1/14/24: ok. This place is still good but they have seemed to change the quality of their ingredients as of recently. The bacon is AWFUL. It is all fat and coming from someone who only gets a crepe with bacon on it is extremely disappointing. It is all fat, just cubed fat that doesn’t even taste like bacon. It’s like rubber. I would rather pay more for a crepe with higher quality ingredients than what we have been getting for the last month. We go here pretty often but will prob have to stop going because some of the ingredients...
