My husband and I popped in here today and were pleasantly surprised by a very welcoming atmosphere, multiple vegetarian options, and a really cool mural on the wall. One of the employees (possibly the manager?) noticed that we were looking at the mural. I am an artist so I was really pleased to see that the large painting was hand painted. He told us about all of the details that make the painting Arlington specific. As someone who enjoys painting I appreciated the skilled use of perspective, color theory and different styles blending together (cartoon-y and more realistic). (I tried to look up who the artist was and I don't see a social media account for the location. I will take pictures next time and post the artist's name on this review. They deserve the praise.) As for the food- the ingredients were fresh, and the bread was yummy. I had the 4" Magic Mushroom on wheat and my husband had the 8" A-Train on wheat. As a vegetarian I like that I can go back and try 2 other sandwiches- the Griefo (Cream Cheese & Veggie), the Power Plant (Guacamole & Hummus), Chiesel (Toasted Cheese), or the Sticky Icky (Peanut Butter and Jelly). I was commenting that I also wouldn't mind trying the Kali Mist (Spicy Club) without the meat on it.
I bought a drink- I liked that they had 3 flavors of Kool-aid. That brought back memories! Of course it wasn't as sweet as we used to make it at home with a whole cup of sugar in a pitcher. But the grape Kool-aid hit the spot.
I think the best part was that every interaction with an employee was very pleasant, cheerful, and honestly, just felt really nice. It was lunch time and the place was half-75% full during the time we were there. But the employees still made sure to greet us, check on how we were doing, and bus our table. I really appreciate good customer service and I will definitely recommend this location to my...
Read moreAs a long-time sub sandwich enthusiast, I was thrilled to finally try Cheba Hut in Arlington. From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a treat. The laid-back, funky atmosphere instantly put me in a good mood, and the friendly staff only added to the positive vibes.
I decided to try their popular "White Widow" sub, and it did not disappoint. The toasted bread was perfectly crispy, and the combination of tender chicken, provolone, and flavorful ranch sauce was mouthwateringly delicious. Each bite was a delightful explosion of taste, and I couldn't help but savor every moment.
What truly sets Cheba Hut apart is their unique and creative menu. With so many intriguing options, I can't wait to go back and explore more of their offerings. If you're in Arlington and looking for an unforgettable sub experience, Cheba Hut is the...
Read moreThe sub was delicious and the atmosphere was top tier. Everyone smiled and said hi. There were two things that were concerns however. Someone who appeared to be shift lead sneezed a couple of times without using his arm to prevent spread. Another sandwich maker was stoned out of his mind (420 friendly here) that he was barely functioning with his bangs in his eyes. It was definitely college coded among the staff without much adult supervision.
MONTH UPDATE: Decided to order through a delivery service this time, and the sub was great! Tried the kool-aid for the first time because I don’t like my kool-aid to taste like straight sugar, but I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. The only thing negative was the goo ball. It was expired yesterday morning, yet sold to me! Why didn’t the closers discard this?...
