Looking good, Denny's. Did you have some work done? A nip-tuck here, an implant there?

After doing some shopping, we were in need of some lunch before more shopping could commence. Denny's, having their frequent coupons in circulation, seemed a good option as this location was on our way to & fro.
Big chili bowl ($5.99)- One of the new featured menu items, the big chili bowl had pot roast, ground beef, cheddar cheese, green onions, a dollop of sour cream and all the rest of the usual chili suspects. I wasn't quite up to eating the usual skillet or omelet, so I thought a hot serving of chili would do the trick. After a liberal dousing of tabasco, my big bowl was ready to be preyed upon. Thick & hearty, I enjoyed the cuts of pot roast & ground beef. The beans were tender, and the spices made it all work. For the price, the big chili bowl is not too shabby. In addition, a smaller bowl of chili can be added to an entrée for a lesser fee.
The dining area has been upgraded, from ripped up old booths to newly upholstered booths, with tables & stool seating towards the middle of the restaurant. While we were there, a balloon artist payaso (clown in Spanish) used his artisan skills to create such balloon masterpieces like minions, Mickey & Minnie Mouse and a pistol. He left in the afternoon.
Service was okay. It seemed to take longer than it should have for our food to come out, but my server was quick with the several soda water w/lime refills that I requested.
Over in the front, try your luck with one of the 2 arcade machines. Challenge "The Claw" if you dare!
Parking is in a private lot, shared by Quality Inn & Suites conveniently off the 91 freeway.
With it's convenience & consistency, Denny's will always have me coming back. Of course, only with coupon in hand. Being never closed, including holidays, and having filling meals like the big chili bowl, makes Denny's a food option whenever I'm craving quick diner food. This location is so old, it's quite possible that this is an old pic back in the day, framed for posterity's sake. (see...
Read moreIt's Denny's so order accordingly. I needed to be healthy for a bit and ordered the "wow" caught salmon. I am certain it was microwaved as it was weirdly hot but not grilled. Only microwave could heat it inside out. For the $16 that it costs, it was marginal along with the same "streamed" but mushy bundle of broccoli. The soggy garlic bread aligned with the microwave theory. It was tasty soaked in butter. I might learn to appreciate it more in another 15-20 years when no chew foods would be preferred. The tap water tasted like tap water. My side salad needed some weeding of the dead but after a few pieces, it was ok. For a Denny's, this one is above average. Our waiter served well. The place wasn't too busy and just before Christmas where malls and big restaurants are hard to get to and parking is war, steering away for a different venue made it so much easier to gather...
Read moreDon’t go for holidays. It was chaos and totally unorganized. There was no signs for pick up, dine in, dine outside so everyone was confused including people who work there. We tried asking the girl with blue hair where to sign in and she had no idea and walked away for 10 min to ask. Our server was nice but she said she was training, it took up probably 45 min just to get drinks, then lids, then sugar for coffee, then creamer for the coffee. why not give her help on a day like this? And I tried asking ENRIQUE for something and he was super rude. I watched him be rude to all the customers picking up food and other staff working. And he was the only one wearing his mask under his nose or under his chin. When I was leaving I asked why he wasn’t wearing it properly and he waved me off saying “thanks”. I would not go back to this location ever again and wouldn’t give any stars...
