There is no worse restaurant in a 5 mile radius than this. We live in the neighborhood, so we REALLY want this place to succeed. We went there, stood at the hostess stand for 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledged that we were standing there. Many servers walked past and looked at us. After finally being sat, it took nearly 10 minutes to be greeted by our waitress, who didn't offer drinks but merely asked what we wanted to order for food. No chips, no salsa... like we were a burden. OK, first, I'd at least like a water... No one to refill the water or see if we wanted another margarita. We watched as servers gathered at the host stand to chit chat while the kitchen staff ran food and the manager ran bar drinks! Seriously?!???! 45 minutes later some food finally comes out. It is WRONG (I ordered a chicken taco and a bean burrito!) It was delivered by someone else. I tell her it's wrong and tell her what I ordered. another few minutes go by and another plate of food comes out. WRONG AGAIN! At this point our waitress comes to check on us- first time in nearly an hour. They finally figure out how to get me a chicken taco and a bean burrito. whew. I talk to the manager and tell him all of the above. He apologizes, blaming it on that they are new- (3 weeks at this point.) I think its POOR management. He gives us a 10% discount. really? Should have comped my meal at least. We've now wasted an hour and a half on trying to get dinner. Tacos! I could have gone to the store, come home, cooked it and watched an episode of Dancing With The Stars.
I waited tables for over 10 years. I know the steps of service and how to keep people happy and how a restaurant SHOULD run. Not like this. Food is OK, nothing to wait an hour for. Margarita's are awesome and authentic though. Take out is OK. My husband would rather not eat anything, than eat here.
Go a block up the street to Taqueria...
Read moreMy father-in-law wanted to try Los 3 Garcias Mexican Restaurant, so off we went.
The inside has yellows, orange, black, and brown, colors. The ceiling is high, and black, so it fades into the background, in other words, it's not noticeable. There are lots of windows, which brings in the bright Colorado sunshine. The restaurant over-looks the lake (Hidden Lake, I believe, is the name of the lake), and when it's nice out, it would be relaxing to sit outside and enjoy the view. Yes, there is patio seating at the restaurant. It was chilly inside, so I was glad I had brought in my coat from the car.
The seating inside has approximately 8 regular tables, 4 high top tables, and a bar that seats approximately 8 people.
The menu is varied, with the usual Mexican offering. I had the Carne Adobada, and it was ok, nothing spectacular, just ok. My father-in-law had the Carnitas plate, and my mother-in-law had the Enchilada Plate. She said there wasn't very much cheese on the enchiladas, and it was a bit dry. My father-in-law asked for corn tortillas with his Carnitas plate, and the waitress brought all of us flour tortillas. The remainder of us asked for flour, but he never got corn tortillas. The wait staff didn't seem to care.
Service was ok. On this day, around 1:11 pm, there were very few patrons in the restaurant, about 2 other tables were occupied. The wait staff didn't seem like they wanted to be there, it was a Saturday afternoon, I guess. They were busy talking among themselves, and not doing much waiting on the customers.
Price - a bit high for lunch, with each plate costing $13.00.
Overall, it was ok, but I wouldn't go out of my way, unless I was...
Read moreThis review is by a GrubHub driver for GrubHub drivers
This restaurant is in my neighborhood, and I've taken 5 deliveries from this spot to various customers since I started driving for GrubHub in the late summer. I have had the same exact experience all 5 times.
Each time I come in and tell them the name I'm here for, the host tells me it's "almost ready" without checking first with the kitchen. On one occasion the food took about 12 minutes, but I had to wait 20 minutes or longer for each of the other deliveries, today I was there for a grand total of 27 minutes.
27 minutes AFTER being told the order was "almost ready"
So if you are a Grub Hub driver, I recommend either skipping this restaurant altogether, or cancelling the ride if you walk in and they say "almost ready"
I understand that kitchens are essentially unanimously short staffed right now, I do. But as a Grub Hub driver, if I'm given an honest answer about how long my food is going to take, I can make an informed decision about whether the money being offered for a given trip is worth said wait. After 5 identical experiences, I've come to the conclusion that this restaurant purposely gives false times on their food to lure the drivers into hanging around and waiting for orders. This just isn't fair and the practice needs to end.
Give ride share drivers honest answers about ticket times, so they can make informed decisions about their own time management and money making. If they drop the ride, somebody else will pick it up, and that person is likely to arrive with more appropriate timing. Lying to your GrubHub drivers to lure them to stay and wait is a very cruel...
