Frank's Deli & Restaurant — Restaurant in Asbury Park

It's a nice small place! Not Alot of seating but it was packed. While they personally do not post pictures of their menus, I have posted the current menu that they had on the counter. Seems they have increased their prices once the last customer post on here. I got a cinnamon roll for $3.47 after tax. It made sense to me to get that instead of 1 piece of French toast for basically $5. It's all the same. Bread and sugar! My issue is, I do not eat meat. The girl I thought was going to fix my 1 item, wasn't it. The woman who had been. Cutting and touching meat with her hands and also chewing either food or gum while doing so, was the 1 who had to touch my food and box it. That's a contamination issue for me. I'm Pescaterian. I do not eat meat. She did Not wash her hands after handling the meat. There was a little meat juice on my box. I didn't go back and say anything. I believe they need hairnets. The lady with reddish hair chewing while cutting meat had a pony tail to the front of her head with her hair hanging over her face, over the food. I'm not sure what the food regulations are for New Jersey but that for sure would not fly down south. All of that would be violations! My concern is had she just put food in her mouth and went back to fixing food? Did she touch her mouth? This is why you're not supposed to eat it chew while upfront. Some customers don't care. I do! Food excellent nothing to say about it service horrible waitress and staff very unfriendly they saw me seated for around 8 minutes no one come over the cleaning tables lady (Latina) saw that then she come overs asking do you want something to drink while you’re waiting?? I say yes coffee please would you like cream or milk?? I say cream please thank you, very fast she come back with coffee and creamers and I still waiting for an others 4 minutes and a very weird attitude waitress come over and ask is any body taking care of you?? Lol she was looking over my table with an other 2 waitress and she come and ask me that?? if none of them want to come over?? lol is that attitude only for Latinos in the place??? Hope not but I’m thinking because 2 other tables come in after me they seat and get help right away, bad service for latinos I noticed? my self and other 3 tables having breakfast there today the only good to Latinos table was the lady who was cleaning them after ppl left, I hope she get at last 15% of tips af all of you waitress in the place she deserves for doing part of...

Google brought me here. Perhaps the best thing that Google ever did.

Perfect breakfast...quality good...great atmosphere where the locals know each other and as someone else said, strangers are made to feel welcome.

A lot of love here....I wish I had found this place earlier. I will be back EVERY time I am back in this area.

Again I was asked if this place has changed.

The only thing that has changed is that there are no more doughnuts. I hope to they come back.

I still give this place five stars.

Great people. Great food. Perfect atmosphere.

I only wish I lived closer.
