Chef Matt Collins is a creative genius who follows through with the excellence of execution! When I was planning a surprise at-home birthday dinner for my wife with our closest friends and family, I reached out to Chef to see if he could make it happen. What he made happen wasn't just a dinner, it was magic. He had a creative, fun, and (most importantly as it would turn out) delicious menu put together in no time flat, and partnered that with some incredible wine pairings for each course. The confluence of flavors in each of his five courses were on par with the very best food we've had in our lifetimes! Each course highlighted fresh in-season and local ingredients, and were as visually beautiful to look at as they were to taste! As well, the white-glove service meant we didn't have to set a table, wash a glass, or clean up afterwards--all was included in the package, which meant the birthday girl as well as the rest of us could relax, enjoy the truly remarkable food, and have a memorable experience for the ages. I contacted Matt to do a dinner for my mother’s birthday. We emailed and spoke on the phone about the menu and pricing. On Friday, Matt told me that a bachelorette party who had changed the date on him 5 or 6 times wanted the same date but because of their inconsistency he was going to give me the date and he would send me a menu on Monday. I asked about giving a deposit for the date and he said we would take care of all of that once the menu was handled. On Monday, I received an email saying the bachelorette party paid him in full and he would no longer be able to do my mother’s birthday dinner for me on the date me told me I already had. Absolutely incredible experience! We had the most lovely birthday celebration thanks to Chef Matt. Each of his dishes caused a moment of silence on tasting the first bite (and a few "Oh my God" whispers). We figured there would be some clattering around in our open plan kitchen and living space but you'd swear mice were cooking - the only way we knew what was happening was when some divine smell wafted over. The entire process was seamless, from menu planning, to execution, and clean-up. Chef's pricing is exceptionally reasonable for what he is providing and we hope to have many more celebrations with him (we might even make some up!).
