Staff usually more interested in chatting with each other than in engaging with customers. Product quality inconsistent - we've had as many made incorrectly as correctly - over/under flavored, over/under iced. Hot has been tepid at best. Today we figured we'd the order a double espresso to minimise potential for error. Dunno - mebbe we're spoiled from drinking Cuban coffees in Ybor - but an inch of tepid something-brown- in-a-cup doesn't qualify, for us, as a double espresso. I get it - this is a tourist joint on the boardwalk and there's like zero competition - but maybe, if you're going to stay open for locals , do better.
Editing to add : probably wouldn't have left a review, as we always considered this just a tourist joint and had low expectations (which they consistently met) if it hadn't been for the snarky blonde barista. We didn't complain. My wife just verified that what had been pushed to the counter was a double. Mostly as we could see cup through the "coffee". But instead of just confirming, or better yet, apologising, Miss JavaGenius took it upon herself to clarify for us what a double, and what Espresso, is. Srsly? We're three times her age at least, and were brewing Tampa roasted Cuban coffee in our kitchen before her MOTHER was born. Get over yourself, Blondie . You're a part-time worker in a seasonal coffee shop, not Jr. Miss...
Read moreI liked the Belmar location when I tried it recently, so I wanted to give this location a try as they took over the old Asbury Park Roastery spot.
First off, this place must be very popular as I waited a while to get served as the line was very long. But as soon as I placed my order, I got my drink within minutes.
I ordered one of the specialty lattes of the month Megthings and it was really good. It was perfect as it wasn't too sweet. Hopefully, they will keep this drink on the menu so I can get it again in the future.
The staff here are very welcoming and friendly, in spite of being super busy. They don't have a large drink menu, but in my opinion, everything is reasonably priced for this location. They also sell some souvenirs like hats, totes bags, sweatshirts, etc. Also, unlike the previous coffee shop, this place only has a couple of tables to sit down.
Overall, Offshore is a great addition to the Asbury Park Boardwalk, and I will be sure to stop in again the next time I drive down...
Read moreInefficient service. Arrived in line 8:45, got coffee 9:25. I was prepared to wait on a Saturday morning but this was ridiculous! A 3 line wait for a cup of coffee! The line was 1/3 of the way across the convention center, and moved slowly. Then the wait for the order was another 6-7 customers long. But what made the whole experience the worst? Waiting in a 3rd line for a lid! (4 customers long) Why not have a lid on the coffee at pickup??? ( I didn’t need anything at the sugar station) This 3rd line formed when people were adding sugar to their drinks and nobody else could get a lid . (Small sugar station) when I saw what was happening with this third line I asked the gentleman behind the counter if he just had a lid back there and he said I had to wait in the sugar station line….even though I only wanted a lid. More morning help needed, lid availability besides sugar station needed. Latte was OK but the wait was not....
