I first started having the food from Bun Intended a few years ago at their Food Truck and oh my how they have grown. The food hall has all of the Staples you'd expect from Bun Intended if you have had their food truck (Bao, Fried Rice, Salapao) but the expanded menu is what keeps me coming back. Now Bun Intended serves one of my favorite Thai Dishes (Pad See Ew!) and the specials that they have may be some of the best Thai food I have had in the area. They now serve delicious skewers and if you are off the clock the Thai Rum Tea slushy is truly something else. ;) If you ever have the chance to try their amazing specials like Thai Chicken Wings or the Cold Noodle, I guarantee you will be singing the same song but all in all I have to say I am happy to have yet another great place to add to my list of favorite foods in Asheville. P.S. The staff are kind and helpful if you have any questions or are looking to add a little more spice to your life.

Ordered a ton of different items so we could get a feel for the menu. Food looked good. The PORK BELLY and grilled chicken BAO were unfortunately way too bready with the baos not being plaiable to hold the contents of the bao that everything kept falling out. We ended up eating the insides and tossing most of the bao. The pork belly being a slight better texture than the grilled chicken. The SALAPAO was a stuffed bun with shredded pork. Nice presentation- but again a bit too bready with not much of the pork filling inside. Would have been better it the pork had a bit more moisture to it with hoisin or something. The SPICY CURRY BOWLS ( chicken and pork) were quite decent and packed a good flavor profile with the coconut milk and spices. The spicy som tum- green papaya salad- was quite decent. The pork skewers were ok. As was the Thai tea with rum. Overall disappointment with the baos as that was what we were most interested in enjoying.

I ordered the curry bowl of the day, which was Massaman curry with pork belly. For the amount and the price, it was filling, and the two slices of pork belly were plenty to pair with the curry. They had two spice levels, so I chose the jungle style, the spicier level. Although it was described as extremely spicy, I thought that it was alright, but for an average person, the description would probably be more fitting. Overall, flavor was there and pretty good, and I was served quickly. It might have been the curry of the day, but I felt that it was a bit too salty, and in addition to the pork belly, it was extra salty. There are radishes, cucumbers, and other veggies that helped cut the saltiness, but I probably would have enjoyed it more if it was less salty. Nevertheless, I think this place has a lot of potential and may come by again to try something different!

Yikes! Very disappointing. Used to be one of my favorite places as a local in Asheville... I just walked up to their counter and asked for the fried rice without eggs because of a severe allergy (a dish I have ordered multiple times without any issue in the past), and even though they make all orders fresh, the woman said they couldn't make it without eggs and insisted I would just get steamed rice... What? The owner in the response is oddly claiming I did not wish for the dish they suggested - even though they would be cooking the exact thing I asked for it seems. I have no idea why I would be told it isn't possible to make the dish then? So can you make the dish or not? Something isn't adding up here.

I suggest changing your policy in such a super dietary-friendly city that has many vegans. Literally went elsewhere for lunch. Very disappointing and quite rude service - great duo for losing customers. Yes, I am disappointed in your lack of being able to appeal to the dietary needs of your customers - that's the point of reviews. Your food is great, which is why it's even further disappointing you aren't addressing...
