First I am not understanding how people are giving us place good ratings.
But if this is the standard then okay.
I don't know where to start.
We stayed in the adjacent hotel and thought this would be good just to pick up some appetizers.
When we walked in we were told to go to the takeout corner. So we did.
And let me tell you it was very dirty and messy. Which turned me off in the beginning I admit.
Anyway the food was late and a while we were waiting we were able to observe the overall environment.
Lots of employees going out to take out door to smoke or whatever they're doing. Thing going right back to work not even washing their hands.
So we finally got our food and when we went to eat it we mainly noticed that it was gross.
We ordered two orders of calamari because our kids even like it. We also ordered the fried mozzarella and a some wings.
The fried calamari is definitely frozen then flash-fried.
I may be mistaken on how ots cooked but it was rubbery and so over-salted we literally couldn't eat it.
The fried mozerella was rubbery and greasy.
The wings were the worst I've ever had for at least in a long time. The picture on their menu off their website looks really good. Sadly that isn't what you get. One of the wings were smaller then my little finger.
They had no taste, were greasy from the fat.
Anyway we wasted $60 as we didn't eat any of it after a few bites.
To management.
I encourage you to get with the program. I would be embarrassed.
This is literally, and I'm not exaggerating probably a great restaurant for Gordon Ramsay to come and rescue.
I don't like leaving negative reviews but seriously this one takes the cake.
I can't wait to floss and...
Read moreWe stayed at the nearby Hampton Inn Asheville tunnel rd and did take out here twice. Their Spiedino di Mare with a side of fettuccine was spot on at $23. The shrimp and scallops in some type of wine sauce was my husband's order and it was a large dish, good for 2. My son had the linguine weesie and it was also big enough for 2. Their chicken fettuccine Alfredo did not have the option to hold the chicken which my daughter would have liked. The food was enjoyable. The reason for the 3 stars was two-fold: one, the first order, they told us, there's extra bread and extra utensils. I got back to the hotel and not a single utensil was found. I had to drive back for the utensils they promised. Plus it was part of my order. Two, during the second pick up, the lady who came to give us our bag was very passive aggressive about tips. She stated "I just noticed here (pointing to my stapled receipt) that um, happy Easter and we appreciate you, you know, and We work for tips." I happen to did not prepay for a tip because it was a pick up. The extent of the service was bringing out my brown bag to my car. There were no refilling of drinks, no taking of my orders, no showing me to a table. There was not even any opportunity to "touch the table" and ask if our food was good. So we didn't go back there again even if we stayed longer at the hotel. I think tips should be reserved for dine in, and optional and not pushed for pick up. Food was good, the pick up attitude and expectations could be improved. However, we will not be back to this location, it is...
Read moreI recently had the opportunity to visit Carrabba's Restaurant on 10 Buckstone Place in Asheville. The Tunnel Road location across from the Asheville Mall has no clear sign to the restaurant’s entrance, Discretely hidden behind the Hampton Inn, I last visited this location over 20 years ago and completely forgot the travel directions. I was looking forward to revisiting many local memories, despite trepedations from a recent poor dining experience at the nearby Carrabba's location on Airport Road.
Upon entering Carrabbas, I was promptly seated in a clean and tastefully decorated modern dining room. Our server promptly arrived and patiently answered any questions regarding our dining options. Her considerable experience showed through, as she was cordial, discrete, and professional in attending to all our dining needs. Carrabba's menu can be described in a word as casually modern Italian. Entrees are varied enough that diners, including those on diets, should be able to find something of interest for their palate. Food portions were more than adequate, arriving hot and tasty in presentation. Although dining out has now become simply a byword for shrinking food portions and increasing dining costs, I feel the restaurant offers decent value for its offerings.
Overall, I was satisfied with our dinner at Carrabba's Restaurant. Our dining experience provided a satisfying night out on the town, and I can confidently recommend this location to patrons seeking a quality dining experience...
