Tried to place an order online. It would not go through so we walked in to place the order. People were coming in every two minutes and there was no one stationed at the to go area. After numerous people coming by and say they would get us if they could. (I think they were servers) They found the to go girl and then the manager had to come help. Though we were the first standing there, everyone just stepped up because they was tired of waiting. One woman pushed everybody out of the way and knew she was the last one there, but they allowed her to order first Because they had no clue what was going on. By that point, the place was overwhelming and packed out because nobody was stationed there to take the to go orders or hand them out Or even have any clue what order people came in. They expect you to place the orders online and somebody randomly comes and hands them to you off the shelf. What happens if there’s an issue with your online system The manager took my order and payment for my food. Spent A little over $80 on two people. To make matters worse When the food was ready, almost an hour later, The woman brings it out and argues with me that I had not paid. I said please just give me my food. I have stood here over an hour and I know I paid. I gave my card to the manager. I then show the receipt? She had to call the manager back up, Who they couldn’t find, Finally, the to go girl comes walking through and says that I have paid. The woman proceeds to explain to me over and over why she said that I hadn’t paid. She wouldn’t just hand me my food she sat there holding the receipt explaining to me why she said it wasn’t paid. I didn’t really care by that point. I just wanted my food. She is the reason I left this review, If she would’ve just gave me my food after I had paid for it And been standing there that long. No, it was more important for her to explain her side of the story, over and over. Until I said, I understand I just want my food. If you decide to go to this location, go when it’s not busy they can’t...
Read moreMy daughter and I had Dylan as a waiter (I assume that’s how you spell his name as he had no tag). He was awful. He didn’t seem like he wanted to take our order to start. Then, I see him, on several occasions, flirting with the hostess and touching her hair and whatnot, very unprofessional and unsanitary as he touches cups, utensils and all. I never got my drink I ordered either (an alcoholic beverage). I had to ask for straws. I had to ask for utensils. I tried to get his attention for napkins but he was too busy conversing with the hostess, one of many times. He never checked on our table during our stay either. I ran out of water and never got a refill or offered anything. I saw several other people needing him or something and they too seemed agitated. I paid for our meal and upon looking for the manager, I see Dylan and the hostess at it again. I asked for a manager and spoke to him. He seemed helpful, who knows. I explained I’ve never once had bad service there. I love the food and atmosphere and have always had great service. I’m a regular there as it’s also my daughter’s favorite place as well. But this time I was let down in many ways. While the food was good, the service, the lack of professionalism and the lack of cleanliness was appalling. Heck, the hostess would start to wipe a table and in front of my daughter, he brushes by her butt and they giggle. Yes, highly disappointed in that place tonight. I know the manager said they are working on building a team but they need people actually wanting to do their part. You’re there to work, not a pick-up joint. Needless to say, he didn’t get...
Read moreLord, where do I start? My wife and I just bought a place right around the corner from Chili's. We had a long, tiring day, were very hungry (and thirsty), and Chili's was right there.
The restaurant itself was dingy and run-down, it actually made me sad to be there. There was absolutely nothing festive about it (which you kind of associate with Mexican or Tex-Mex joints).
I had some sort of upgraded margarita (the Presidente, I believe it's called). It was cloyingly sweet with an artificial tartness that masked the taste of the Patron. Far from enjoying my well-earned cocktail, I actually found it hard to get through.
Dinner was poor. The quesadilla was undercooked, the cheese not melted. It came with a side sauce that was overwhelmingly salty and offered very little else by way of flavor. The "Mexican Rice" was a sad little ramekin of mildly spiced white rice. The "Mexican Street Corn" was coated with a small amount of queso fresco, paprika and cilantro and did have a small char on it, but none of that was detectable since the corn was entirely too mushy and bland. We also ordered a side of broccoli. That, too, was served unforgivably mushy.
I don't blame the bartender (we ate at the bar) who was attentive and prompt. However, her three-star performance was not enough to nudge my review up a star.
So...if you're ever flying into Asheville and you've had a long day and your tired and just want to have a drink and a meal and relax, do yourself a solid ... and go...
