We are from out of town and wanted to try a new coffee shop in Asheville. We chose Double Ds because it looked cute. It was freezing outside so my mom walked in the bus to see if there was seating inside or if we could order inside. The woman working yelled at her and said “What are you doing in here? Get outside.” My mom said “I just wanted to see if we could order inside.” The lady said, “No, can’t you see the line outside??” Speaking to my like my mom was an idiot. My mom said, “I don’t like the way you’re speaking to me, I’m just going to leave.” And the lady said “Good- leave.” My mom asked for the woman’s name and she wouldn’t give it to my mom, saying “why do you want to know?” finally my mom found out the woman’s name was Hazel. I was really excited to try this coffee shop but we were treated so poorly that we left and went to another coffee shop instead. We paid $4 to park here and try out Double Ds just to be treated poorly. I hope the owners see this and understand Hazel lost them...
Read moreTo be honest, I didn't actually go in and have the coffee but the place of adorable. The people that were there, look like they were very content and comfortable. It's a coffee shop, on a Saturday nigh, and outside of their gate, there was a wonderful, very young, well-trained, musician on violin. He had his case open. Therefore, he was playing for tips.😁 An entrapaneur, if you will. 😏 I actually had a dollar to give. And I would've given many more, if I could.🙂 "Busking" is what they call it. (Vocabulary lesson in a review.😁) Still... Do you know how BRAVE you have to be... To stand alone on a side walk of many people, and just play, because...:🙄YOU LOVE IT! 😄 It's frightening. Especially if you're playing your originals. You just put yourself out there for anybody to judge you.? ...Aside from the fact that you would like to entertain them, and make this all happy, it's still scary. So Bravo to you! 👏 You are a talent and very brave. Thanks for supporting local artists, Asheville. We...
Read moreIt took me years to get to this bus. I jumped out The car and ran up to place my order. It was a drive by sort of exit (Limited Parking here).
The menu for a fake coffee drinker (that's me) was easy to order quickly and keep it moving.
They take your name and call you over the intercom when your order is ready. It's like the school days and you go on to the bus to get your order. All the condiments are on the bus.
I enjoyed the Creme Brue Latte (not too sweet and not over powering in the coffee taste) and Mango Blast Smoothie (was just okay).
I would order the latte again but not necessarily the Mango Blast. It wasn't bad but not enough lasting flavor to do a repeat. I would try something else.
A few tables to sit at if you don't want to leave immediately.
Over all this eye catching picture worthy coffee and dessert establishment was a great experience.
I will be back next time I come to town.
Only the first floor of the bus was in operation...
