I have been a customer for 15 years. I remember the location next to the bus stop in downtown Medford at there very first location. I know the owners and there son. Back then when finances were different for them and they were always working at there restaurant, the service and food was very good. Now, there is no such thing as service and the energy at both locations is one that expresses low morale and no motivation. The customer is reduced to being treated like a nusence. The only reason to go is the food quality is still decent. What a disappointment and slap in the face. My family and I will no longer go as the food alone is not worth the agony of inadequate incompetent service and horrible unwelcoming energy. Another American business that has forgotten where they came from after experiencing a little bit of success. When customers decide enough is enough the lesson you will experience will be one that will be devestating financially. You then can call professionals with real success like Gordon Ramsey who will point out you forget what gave you success in the first place and allowed your expansion. Good food and Good Service. Real success doesn’t exist...
Read moreMy son and I went in and made an order to go, we sat and waited. We ordered two bento boxes. After about twenty minutes of waiting I saw one of the workers bag up the order so I went up to the counter, the guy walked away so I asked the waitress for our order, she said it wasnt ready yet even after I said I think thats my order in the bag she said no thats someone elses. So I sat down again. after thirty five minutes I got back up and asked again and was told its not ready. If I hadnt paid for it already I would have just left. So after forty minutes another customer that ordered after me was handed the bag of food, the customer looked at the food and said this isnt mine, so the waitress told me oh this is yours. I took the food and went back across the street to eat. the food was cold and the worst tasting teriyaki chicken I ever had. For twenty bucks I got a bag of food that the stray dog wouldnt even eat. WILL NEVER GO BACK. And will make sure no one I know or come across...

I've been to Bonsai a couple of times now, and my experience has been a bit mixed, but overall, it's a solid choice for a meal in Ashland. On my first visit, I tried the California roll and the spicy salmon roll. I have to say, they weren't my favorite. The flavors didn't quite hit the mark for me, and I've definitely had better sushi elsewhere.
However, I'm glad I gave it a second chance. On my return visit, I ordered the yakisoba noodles, and they were delicious. The flavors were spot on, and the portion was generous. A friend I was with also ordered one of the larger bento boxes, which looked fantastic and was a good size for the price. They really enjoyed their meal as well.
So, while I'd recommend exploring the menu beyond the basic sushi rolls, Bonsai Sushi has some great options. The bento boxes and noodle dishes seem to be their strong suit, and they are definitely...
