My experience below is the reason for giving 1 star.
I stopped in at the Oneida Street location on May 21st some time late morning. I was there to pickup two Sami’s Bakery Lavash that I had ordered 3 weeks ago. They were sitting out on a table in a bag. I didn’t think much of this at the time.
However, when I got home I realized that there was mold covering the product in both packages. I then called the Oneida Street location the same day and spoke with someone to explain the situation about the mold. She was very apologetic and asked to place me on hold.
She came back on the line to tell me I should have picked them up the day they arrived. Apparently they had arrived from their shipment a few days prior to when I picked up. I explained to her that the person I placed the order with (Doug, the owner) said that they will call me if I don’t pick them up within a few days (causing me to assume that it wasn’t necessary to pick up the same day). They never called. When I told her this, she said “I don’t know what was said, I wasn’t there.” I then asked her why the items weren’t put in a fridge or freezer so they wouldn’t go bad, and she told me there wasn’t enough freezer space for them. I then asked why no one called me like I was told I would be. She didn’t have an answer. She said they will replace my order and it will be there on 6-6. I originally placed my order (and paid for my order) the first week of May.
After that conversation, I called back about 10 minutes later requesting to speak to Doug, the owner. I was told he wasn’t there but I could speak to the manager working. I declined and asked for Doug to call me next time he was in. The person on the line simply said “sure” and then hung up on me. I could not imagine hanging up on a customer. I was not being rude in any way, I was simply frustrated and wanted to speak to the owner.
I was super taken aback by the huge pushback I got for simply being frustrated I received a moldy product and the lack of communication. I decided to call a different B-Alive location to make sure I’d get a call back from Doug, as I didn’t trust that the lady at the Oneida Street location would actually relay my message with being hung up on and all.
Later that day I received a call back from Doug. He could not have cared less about any of this. “Maybe she was having a bad day” was his response to getting hung up on. He had no idea why I wasn’t called to tell me my items were in and he also had no idea why the items weren’t kept in a freezer to prevent mold.
It was an overall 0/5 star experience from start to finish, and I would never give this place my business ever again. Looking at other reviews, it looks like this establishment has a hard time finding staff to conduct themselves in a respectful and...
Read moreI've been a loyal client for years. Therefore, I felt comfortable asking the elderly store operator lady, at the Oneida Street location, if she could kindly share one of her discount coupons since I left my community mailer copy at home. I pointed out that it is the same coupon as the large one posted in her store's window just 5 feet away. She responded with a confused face, looked at the window, said she neither had any idea of such coupons nor what I was talking about. I then asked if the Country Life Vitamin C 's shelf-displayed-price was her best price available. Her response was "yes", however, she recommended I instead buy my vitamins from Amazon Prime. She believe they were cheaper there. I thought, "how interesting". Hence I checked the internet to find that Amazon does offer the product, but better yet, so does a company named Pure Formula and the company has 61,635 reviews, with a 4.6 star rating. I give the senior lady 1 star for client relations and 5 stars for recommending me to review other suppliers. In a year of Covid-19, one would not guess that B-Alive has little need for our local community's business. In all fairness, the lady could be suffering from early dementia symptoms. It is strange that she would not be aware of the 1000s, if not hundred of 1000s, of B-Alive coupons printed over the years. Nonetheless, if her cognitive skills are failing and she can't read her coupons, then I understand, I wish her the best, and this post would...
Read moreMy mother and I love going to this place and getting our vitamins!! But it was so sad having my mother come home saying that she was not going back to the Onedia location because the customer service seemed sharp and very pushy! She had gone to that location because she was on that side of town to pick up an order. Once she came in, she inquired about the order and was met with a sharp response about how she should have picked it up sooner and that all the vitamins were already put back on the shelf.(Without a call to inform her.) Then while going through the aisles trying to remember and find what she had ordered, the sales associate came up and told her that she had ordered a hair and nails vitamin. My mother replied back saying that the sales associate was mistaken, and the sales associate "huffed" off. Finally, at the cash register my mother was content to stand in line behind another customer that the sales associate was conversing with. The sales associate sharply told my mother that she could help her now. My mother said that she was content with waiting until the sales associate was done with her conversation. "I'll just take you now." The sales associate said. Like I said it is so sad that this happened at one of our places that we like going to...
