Las Montanas in Aspen exceeded our expectations in every way. As avid fans of MML Group restaurants back in Austin, we were thrilled to discover their Mexican cuisine offering here. The atmosphere was vibrant yet cozy, with stunning mountain views that added a unique charm to our dining experience. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, making us feel welcomed from the moment we walked in.
The menu at Las Montanas is a delightful mix of traditional Mexican flavors with a modern twist, reminiscent of our beloved La Piscina. We couldn't resist trying the chicken fajitas with queso, and they were absolutely incredible. The chicken was perfectly cooked, tender and juicy, complemented by the rich, creamy queso that elevated the dish to a new level. The fresh tortillas and flavorful accompaniments made every bite a fiesta in our mouths.
Overall, Las Montanas captured the essence of what we love about MML Group restaurants – exceptional food, excellent service, and a fantastic ambiance. This place stands out in Aspen, and we can't wait to return. However, we did find it a bit challenging to navigate with a stroller, so we wish it were easier to get up there with one. Whether you're a local or just visiting, make sure to add Las Montanas to your list; it's an experience not...

They need better music to make you want to hang out and stay and have a good time. Its kinda boring in there
They need to crosstrain staff. They only have one person that can seat people. So the back up when busy can be present. Other people walking around with no direction or sense of what they were supposed to do. I just was looking at different people walking around and the lack of crosstraining is obvious. One person is only trained to do one thing. You can cut down in employment cost and cross train and be more productive for the employees that are present.
The seating outside the bar was not designed well. Has 4 seats but the table is too small for 4 people to seat.
I asked for the Wi-Fi password twice and no one knew what it was. Not acceptable.
The bar could have been designed better. It lacks the décor for a high priced mexican restaurant.
Food was good. High priced...
Read moreWe asked if our small dog would be able to come in with us if we ate outside, and the host said it wasn’t allowed by law if she’s not a service dog. Firstly, that is not true. It is absolutely legal if they are outside and is decided at the restaurant’s discretion. That’s fine if they say no for that reason, but please don’t be dishonest and claim it’s law, particularly when the other restaurants on the same street allow them as we discovered after. Secondly, after asking if she was a service animal, we said yes because in Spain where we live, an emotional support animal is considered a service animal. She aids her when she has panic attacks. The host proceeded to then ask my girlfriend what disability the dog helps her with, which is prohibited by law to ask. If he had even just gone about it in a less aggressive way, it may not have bothered us much. Unfortunately, that was not the case and it made my girlfriend very...
