Milky-Cha — Restaurant in Astoria

We visited around 2pm and ordered 2 drinks. Staff of 3 were congregating at the kiosk and greeted us. I tried to order a matcha drink and received a blunted reply that they were out of matcha. I asked the cashier to clarify if other options were unavailable and it would be helpful if there was a board at the store front that listed the unavailable items from the menu. I paid for the order and tipped cash. We browsed the merchandise until I noticed the drinks were completed. I’m unsure why nobody was able to verbally cue me that my order was completed. The drinks were not the correct size we ordered and the person I went with just wanted to take the loss and leave rather than trying to get the correct size of drink. Nothing wrong with the quality but it’s awkward to get an incorrect order as the only guest. Maybe they had better things to do than serve us? They are just kids so maybe they need more practice to be more accurate and...

I enjoy their Boba, but the last couple times when I've called to place a carryout order, they tell me that they aren't taking carryout orders because of "bad experience." I've never heard of a restaurant or shop not taking a carryout order. This is especially frustrating when it takes them 20 minutes to make the boba at times, and if I plan ahead and place an order to come pick it up so I can grab some boba real quick before I head to work, then I shouldn't be punished and forced to come inside where it takes 20 minutes to make the simplest drink on the menu when there's one other customer in the store. The best part is when they've told me that they don't accept carryout, that they aren't that busy, which was true, but when I came in, it took 25 minutes to make when there was one other customer...

Tea was fine but they really lost all the points with their "bubble waffles." First it took over 30 minutes and the gals behind the counter didn't do much to communicate such an extremely long wait. Then when I got the bubble waffles, they were served all crumbled in pieces on bags with one crispy and the other barely cooked. Then when it comes to taste, I question the recipe they're using and whether that's what is causing them all sorts of trouble, because they didn't taste all the other bubble waffles I've had consistently from a variety of places.
