Our visit was around 12:30 on a Friday afternoon for lunch. Not very busy at time of visit. We aren’t from the area so review comes as a tourist.
Looking for a fun atmosphere with a menu to please anyone and good tap beer? This is your place! The spicy cheese curds are some of the best we have ever had according to our group of 4 aging between 8-42. The appetizer sampler is a must order, pick 3 and around 13.00. We choose the spicy cheese curds, fried pickle spears, and corn bites. So good!! The kids had chicken strips with upgraded cheese curds. Standard kids chicken strip meal is 6.00- two chicken strips and french fries. Adult is 10.00 with 4 chicken strips and french fries. The chicken strips were good flavor with a lighter crispy batter. I had the smoked wings around 10-12 for $11.00. The wing flavor was one of the best I have ever had with an amazing crispy outside. The buffalo sauce wasn’t to shabby either. Unfortunately, the wings that day were just pretty dry and a lot of sauce was needed to help make up for it. I’d still give the wings another shot on a different day, because the smoked flavor and crispy outside is worth another try.
The atmosphere and location are great this Kansas town. Outside seating with umbrellas, corn hole and ability to create your own music play list. Inside seating looked fun too.
Downfalls- unfortunately, it appeared only one waitress working and while they weren’t busy the service was very slow. The waitress was nice but I ended up going inside to place our drink and food order at once. We a patiently waited and even a few regular patrons said she would be coming back out, but she never did. When I went inside she was polite and grateful when I said I would just order at the counter. Awhile later a male came out, he appeared to be cleaning tables. He sat at the table next to us and talked to us about why we were in town and places to visit, as if he knew I was slightly irritated by the wait, but completely made it up for it too.
If you aren’t a beer drinker than the drink options are slim. Canned pop and regular lemonade and juices. The prices are reasonable for the drinks.
The ranch was a standard premade, pre package blend. Still better tasting than most but not as good as a house blend.
Overall- I’d visit this place again more than once for lunch. The food was good, atmosphere great, and wait staff was trying. I have a feeling in the evenings it’s a great local spot to listen to music by the water and...
Read moreWe had four in our party, went a couple weeks ago for lunch. Not crowded, seating immediately available. Server was a teenager that would pay more attention to his buddies than our table. Food was decent. Not the best but not the worst. Just an average, small town burger joint. The biggest disappointments to me....were that sodas come in a can ((so you have to pay per can versus unlimited refills from a fountain)) and the menu is very limited!! I expected to more options. Burgers, salads, drinks, couple sides. I wish we would have tried something else that day. Couldn't find anything I really liked or wanted so I ate fries dipped in cheese sauce. Less...
Read moreWe thought this would be a neat place to eat while at the Amelia Earhart Festival but everyone in our group ended up sick afterwards. I politely called the restaurant the next day to inform them of the issue and they acted like this couldn’t happen because they served hundreds of meals that day. I explained that’s all we ate and we found the food was cold upon being served and we found hair in two. They said they wanted to be proactive but didn’t bother to even apologize, listen, or refund us the meal. The atmosphere is decent but the food we were served...
