I am an Emory grad (current GT student) and I love the Emory Kaldi's. The GT branch needs work. The lines are too long, which may be because Kaldi's needs to condense their offerings that require actual cooking (quiche, toast etc.) to account for busy hours (it seems they don't have as big a kitchen here) , or figure out a way to deliver faster. To give Kaldi's another chance I tried to come in the off-peak hours...I came at 8am today to study and there was not a single pastry in the pastry case until 8:30...I think you guys open at 7. The ambiance is not as unique as the Emory versions; it feels like a Starbucks someone slapped a Kaldi's label on. If Kaldi's wants to keep its distinctive feel in each café and prove they are "not a cookie-cutter operation" management needs to implement some of these changes. I am also not sure why you close at 7pm. The Emory depot location is open until 2am, the Starbucks that lived in the CULC before you was also open extremely late. We are college students; later hours are almost a necessity. I give a 4/10 for the "warm and inviting environment." (I'd give the Kaldi's depot a 9.) Overall, pretty poor job crafting an "experience" to "fit the community." I hope Kaldi's will improve, because I want to like it (and you have a captive audience), but as stands it is a disappointment.
P.s. If you could add a few more gluten free options (like the PB balls or the carrot muffin) that would awesome. This isn't a...
Read moreThe worst coffee place at tech. The tech dining staff is actually super rude for no reason and are irritated. I asked whole milk as a creamer for my drip coffee and got yelled to get a latte? Mind you frikin business and serve the customer, yall aint got no basic etiquette. Also got yelled at for sitting in the lobby 10 mins prior to opening, I have a midterm I need to revise for so I sat there and I like the lobby so I just set myself up until my test and got treated with rudeness, which is obviously super distracting. This is INSIDE the college library for STUDENTS ffs. went back and obviously the...
Read moreLove Kaldi coffee!!! I got the vanilla latte and once got the chocolate croissant thing. The latte is super good! I'd ask for lighter ice next time, but it has me waiting for the ice to melt to enjoy the remainder of the flavor. There were two workers, one seems like he's new and being trained, while the other comes off as a bit rude, but I don't think that's her intent. I think she's just trying to keep the pace of the coffeeshop going, which, was very fast! I got my drink nearly a minute after ordering! The prices are a bit high, but I much prefer it to Starbucks or...
