Melinated Cafe’ — Restaurant in Atlanta

I want to thank this restaurant for their delicious food and for serving plant-based meals at a time when there still aren’t many vegan customers around. It’s inspiring to see people creating food that shows how exciting and nourishing plant-based cuisine can be. I did mention something to the restaurant during my visit, but I didn’t get a chance to fully express my thoughts at the time. I want to share them now, hoping the restaurant will make changes. I noticed a fish kept alone in a small vase as decor. Fish are intelligent, sentient beings who need enrichment, space, and companionship. They deserve more than a life of isolation in a confined space surrounded by artificial plants. Would we trade places with that fish? A life like that, for humans, would be considered solitary confinement. I share this not as criticism but out of genuine care. I know the owners have good hearts and are already doing so much good through their food and values. I truly hope they’ll extend that same compassion to the little fish who shares their space. Lastly, I hope more of us start questioning where these animals come from. Companies like PetSmart and others profit from exploiting living beings, treating them as decor or disposable objects. I don’t know which critically acclaimed chef is hiding in that kitchen BUT THEY NEED TO COME OUT AND STOP PLAYING WITH US!!! I was craving rice super late at night and found this place and read the reviews I was less then 10 mins away so I called and placed my order customer service was warm friendly and helpful. I normally add salt to most of my meals just because I personally tend to like more salt then the usual person but this food was so flavorful I couldn’t be bothered I ordered the rice bowl and 1 taco and BRO! Both were amazing, if whoever the cook is was going to make all my vegetarian meals for the rest of my life then I would probably never ask for another wing or steak again!!! Wanted to see what’s all the fuss about:) I saw five stars & was elated to try it out! Usually, wouldn’t give a low review after I speak with someone at the restaurant but I wasn’t impressed with the food nor the response. The packaging is poor quality & more than likely the reason why the food arrives cold; we were only ten minutes away. Putting a burger with lettuce inside of aluminum foil & foam is not a good idea btw. The fries was okay though the toppings were tasty. The lettuce & salads was not fresh. Big disappointment. I expected better with having five stars 👀 Interesting, to say the least....
