My boyfriend and I recently visited Centennial Grounds in search of a pleasant coffee experience, but sadly, our visit fell far short of expectations. From the moment we stepped in, the atmosphere felt unfriendly and unwelcoming. We couldn't help but feel like outsiders, receiving unwarranted stares from both staff and other patrons.
The discrepancy in treatment became even more evident when we observed how differently we were treated compared to the customers ahead of us. The staff's demeanor towards us was noticeably colder and less accommodating. It's disheartening to be treated with such rudeness in a place that should be known for its hospitality.
To add insult to injury, the coffee we ordered was a major letdown. Not only was it overpriced for what we received, but the quality was subpar at best. The bitter, burnt taste was unmistakable, leaving us questioning the freshness of their bean. Overall, our visit to Centennial Grounds was a regrettable experience. We had hoped for a cozy atmosphere and a decent cup of coffee, but what we got was quite the opposite. We won't be returning, and we certainly can't recommend this establishment to others seeking a pleasant...
Read moreThis is unfortunately one of the only options for coffee at the Omni Hotel if you're around for a convention in the morning. Overpriced for poor service and subpar coffee. I ordered a large drip vanilla coffee and was charged about $6.25. Waited over ten minutes and inquired only to be handed a cup with a vanilla shot and be told the coffee was in a dispenser. Why was I waiting for a vanilla shot that cost me $0.60 extra? My colleague ordered a tea and had to wait 5 minutes for a cup of hot water and be pointed to the tea bags, which were also laid out on the counter. So, he's brewing his own cup of tea from a prepackaged bag for $2.89. Unreasonable. The line is easily 20-30+ minutes in the morning at convention time. Walk to Dunkin' or something.
Edit: The owner responded to this and said the coffee was free if I am a select member. That is blatantly not honored - I am an Omni Select member, and no one indicated this benefit. My 1/5 star for poor service is...
