Bill's Gyro & Souvlaki — Restaurant in Atlantic City

The worst experience ever in my life here. I am going to this restaurant just because I thought I am going to eat something good as they advertise Greek food, I am ordering gyros plate and excited for what I know I will have to eat. The waitress is coming to take the order, I am asking her what kind of meat is for that plate and she says is beef and lamb, getting me more excited. She is coming with the food and I am finding a mountain of frozen fried fries, bread, some salad Greek type and some shaved meat on the top. I am wondering why does look like that and where are the meat pieces I know it should be on the plate. I am eating and I am finding a very weird sausage taste, like they fried some ground meat and shave it somehow and sell it like being beef and lamb gyros. I am looking around and yes, they have those rotisserie type for meat kebab but a very weird meat on it, square shape letting you wondering what in the world is that, very weird shape of the meat on it and very shady color. I don't like at all what i am seeing and I really don't like what i am giving to eat instead of the food i ordered. And after that the show began. The waitress is coming and ask me and my boyfriend if the food is ok, my boyfriend is pretty pleased because he got another type of plate, he is american and he really does not know Greek food and taking everything like being genuine and real. Wich it wasn't, very obvios for me it was i big scam. I am telling the waitress, since she asked, the "gyros" taste like sausage and i don't like it and she said it is like it's supposed to be and she leave. I am eating a little bit of salad, i am trying again the shaved shitty meat just to decide, no, it's a health threat, i am eating a little bit of bread just to do something while my boyfriend is enjoying his beer and then we decide to pay and go, being prepared to call it a loss in our evening and that's it. But is not over. They bring the receipt with a big fat 18% GRATUITY added by default, on the receipt!! They just granted themselves with a bit tip from my money just like that. I am turning red on my face and decide to confront them for this big nerve they have and ask them what is making them to decide how much tip i am going to grant them with. The waitress is showing to me a notice taped on the wall behind the counter wich is saying to have to pay tip when you set foot on their fake fony restaurant, spanish-not-clear-nationality triking people in the Greek cuisine. I am telling her I am not paying a tip by force and I am not going to pay the fake food they served me if she is not taking the auto-entitled tip out from my receipt. I am telling her I am going to call the police and she goes like ok, call the police. I am telling her all this Greek food is only fake and she says nobody ever complaind about the food in 40 years since she works there. I told her I am not talking on other people behalf and I am talking for myself only. And then she dares to ask me where i am from, with a very rude and authoritarian tone of voice. I am telling her that does not matter for her but I am European and I know exactly what I am talking about when is about Greek food and they cannot fool me. She takes the auto-rewarded tip out from the bill and I am telling her I am going to make time for other people to know about their type of food and service. I am still wondering why you ask me how is the food if you don't do anything when I told you from the beginning I don't like it. But having the nerve to grate yourself with my money and minimize my complain with the stupid reason nobody complained before in 40 years.. only a stupid lie and putting the customer down under her suposily time of service. I am going back to the hotel just hungry but with my appetite destroyed. Over night I experience big stomach pain only for those little tries to eat that food. I had to take Imodium to not get in trouble with diarrhea or even worse. So, my friends, do yourself a favor and avoid this place. I am going to send an inspector...

I was already having a bad day. I come to New Jersey, probably once every three months to go to the casino and I like to come to this place today this particular afternoon I had a terrible experience with the waitress for whatever reason I do not know.

I was not going to make a report, but as the day goes by it really just bothers me because there even was a time where two customers came in male and one even asked me why do I look so sad and that was in the middle of my meal so it was evident that I was having a bad day . Tears still in my eyes

From the beginning, the waitress reached over me to take the other menu across from me off my table since I was eating alone. did not greet herself did not say excuse me so from the jump I’m getting bad vibes and the environment and energy does not feel nice.

As the service goes on when it’s time for her to take her meal, she speaks from behind me at first, and then she comes and leans on the chair aside of me with her hands behind her back stale face asking me do I know what I want, I give her my order. She corrects me because I say , “I would like to have a turkey delux and she says” what ? a sandwich? a burger ? What do you want?” ….. I said a burger she said with fries I said yes…. VERY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL!

From there, it was evident she had a problem with me. Im a young black, pretty nice looking woman and since I’ve never met this woman and haven’t had any communication with her prior my appearance the only reason why she’s having such attitude towards me. Like I said I was already having a bad day. My eyes were bloodshot red from crying before I just decided to come in and get myself a meal so she really just made my day even worse not better at all.

Throughout the service I had to ask for my water she did not come back and check to see if my food was OK. I had to ask somebody else for Mayo and when it was time for the bill, she asked if I was done I said yes, she looked at me weird…. I started putting my napkin on my plate. She grabbed the napkin that was in MY hand and put it on my plate as if she was trying to clean up for me , and after she took my trash, she did not bring the bill for 10 minutes . I immediately put my credit card on. She did not pick my ready to pay bill up for another 10 minutes. I had to stand up and walk to the counter just for my bill to be paid. She was not busy. There was only two other tables. She was behind the counter talking to the cook, not paying anyone. Of course I did not give her a tip. I wish that I could have wrote her a note, but I was already in a bad mood she really needs help & better customer service I just came in for food.

This receipt is clearly not under her drawer because her name is not there She’s short older Hispanic, looking sorry poor excuse of a woman. If I ever do decide to come back to this establishment, I will be sure to not have her as a server until she gets some...

Racism is definitely still alive and thriving within this establishment!

My family and I attempted to eat breakfast here. We were waiting at the entrance for about five minutes before a table large enough for my whole family. We found a table in the far back corner of the restaurant. Once we sat down we simply organized all of the waste from the previous meal on the end of the table and wiped it down with a few napkins; while waiting for a waiter to come clean off the waste and do a final wipe. They kept telling us that we needed to move so that they could clean the table, but we already straightened it all up and simply needed menus. They guy ignored us while cleaning and then placing menus on the tables around us. I assumed that he did not understand what we were asking. So I attempted to explain that what we needed, but he kept ignoring us. I then got my family up and left. On the way out they were telling another African American family to wait for them to clean off a table that they already cleaned.

Also on the was out the waiter was cleaning a table while a white couple sat at the table. He did not have a problem wiping around her Dunkin Donut's coffee cup while they sat at the table. I asked to speak to an owner regarding why a white couple could get their table wiped off while sitting there but they insisted that I take my family back to the front door to wait. The guy did not respond to my question! Maybe it was because he was adamantly insisting that no outside beverages could be brought into the restaurant to an African American lady was waiting at the door to be seated while completing a cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee. She mentioned the cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee on the people's table in front of her, but all the man behind the counter responded with was "we do not allow outside items in here".

At this moment my 10 year old daughter asked why does it seem like he is giving all of the black people a hard time. I simply told my daughter that we could find better service and be appreciated as people in another establishment.

When we were outside a black guy came out and said he has been waiting.
