This location is not on the beach/Boardwalk like the casino's but there's not the casino atmosphere and the beach is a walkable distance. This hotel is attached to the Convention Center via a sky bridge and the available parking is under the Convention Center. Not sure if the hotel was built as part of Convention Center or hotel was built first? The hotel itself has a Miss America theme with displays of gowns, shoes, photos and many other Miss America memorabilia everywhere. Just outside the entrance in the garden circle there is a photo opportunity where you can stand under the crown being crowned. All this is very interesting, especially considering the current generation didn't really experience what it was back in the day. The front desk staff is outstanding, friendly and professional. The lobby has the classic grand stairs to the second floor, lounge area, and gift/cafe/store. On the second floor there is a bar and business area with computers, printer and charging ports. The second floor has a large breakfast buffet room behind the bar area. The buffet has a very nice selection of breakfast food and a friendly staff. The second floor is also the location of the ballrooms, the walkway to the Convention Center and an elevator down to the Tun Tavern so you do not have to walk around the building. Note the elevator needs card key to access for security. This building has 16 floors with the top 2 being card access. The VIP lounge is on 16. The rooms are large the decor is modern, the bathrooms have tubs and of course all amenities provided. The room has a mini fridge (temp about 40°), microwave and coffee/tea maker. There is 2 bottles water, ice bucket with ice and vending machines available. The rooms have bay view and city with partial view of ocean and tiny bit of boadwalk. City view is nice at night. The VIP Lounge is large, with comfortable seating and tables. The lounge has a work desk with computer and printer, a bathroom and a limited snack area including coffee/tea. Since the virus like many hotels the lounges snacks/food have been cut back hard. The pool iz closed also since the virus as other hotels have done. Note the Tun Tavern while in the hotel building is not part of the hotel meals can not be charged to the room. Now some negatives. The entrance can be missed there is no Sheraton above the entrance. At time of several visits the main turnstile door was not working, the round about is very small and valet service is limited. The two doors to each side of the closed turnstile are heavy to open and there is no doorman assistance. The parking is terrible, located across the street, so it is necessary to walk through the Convention Center out door #6, across the street and through a little garden circle, across driveway to the entrance. Recommend dropping your party and luggage at the entrance and then go to parking garage, there is a 15 minute drop off zone next to entrance. Valet parking is randomly available. The parking garage is inside protected from weather, has security and costs 20.00 per day chargeable to room, get ticket at front desk when you check in. The Convention Center is attached to the NJ Transit train station so there is often taxi and there is a Jitney. Not sure if Uber/Lyft is available in AC. AC has a huge homeless problem so expect to see homeless around the train station and in the garden circle in front of the hotel. At night the garden circle can be a secutity concern and walking around the area also can be a security concern, unfortunately. Across the street from the hotel is a shopping outlet center which is mostly high end stores. There is also a Applebees next to the outlet center. A little bit of walking will take you to several restaurants, but again be mindful of the homeless. Another thing to be aware of is the breakfast buffet and the attached Tun Tavern have very limited hours depending on time of the year and occupancy level. I found the Miss America themed setup, the well maintained building, and especially the staff and management rates this just...
Read moreThe hotel in general is good and I like the fact there is no tolerance of guests who want to smoke weed in their guests room or anywhere in the Hotel's common areas.
The rooms are reasonably large and their beds are so very comfortable. Housekeeping is very accommodating in providing additional bottles of water during your stay as well as extra toiletries.
The downside is that their restaurants in the hotel are not opened Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. When I asked the front desk why are their dining services are not opened as advertised, the clerk stated it's due to the low number of hotel guests during those days.
The extra blanket that housekeeping provides has stains on it and appears to be old blankets. The hotel needs to replace old and stained comforters with new clean comforters. The coffee maker had not been cleaned out in months and it was filled with dust as well as residue of coffee stains inside it.
There is no access to using the gym in the hotel because they locked the doors.
I told the front desk clerk that it's false advertising to say the hotel has dining all through the week but it has no such service.
When I stayed many times at this hotel prior to the year of the pandemic, it use to have their restaurants open seven days a week as well as room service to serve meals to your room.
When their Tuvan Restaurant was open on Friday, I had no one approached me to seat me at a table to take my order. In fact, I was ignored and the restaurant looked deserted with little customers sitting at one table.
Now there is none of that offered and the hotel still wants to use the excuse of it being after affects of pandemic. The pandemic has been over now for three years and the hotel should resume back to normal functionality; regardless of the number of guests that occupy during the start of the week days. It says to me the hotel head manager don't value the guests who are presently staying at their hotel. During my stay there were many guests that filled the hotel and many sat in the lobby sitting area.
Most including myself had only to eat the unhealthy on the go food available in the hotel's gift shop. It's ok to have a bagel or muffins with cream cheese but it isn't a healthy meal.
I overheard other guests complaining to the front desk about the lack of customer service.
However, I am grateful that the hotel had a room available in my last minute reservation. Management did write me and apologized for the inconvenience and stated that their restaurant manager will be forwarded my complaints on the lack of restaurant operation.
I think it would have been better to give me 20% off my stay because their hotel falsely advertised having restaurants open 7 days a week to serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
It's very costly to opt for ordering food through doordash or Ubereats to deliver to your room. Oh and the front desk didn't direct the delivery person to bring my order to my room.
It was left at their front desk and the front desk didn't call me nor have a hotel staff bring my order to my room. They need to give more training in...
