The planning processes was pretty laid back and easy. Our Sales Rep, Samantha, had me come out and view the Rooftop Terrace, weighed out all of our options, and answered any questions I had. Two weeks prior to the July event taking place, I provided a final number of attendees to our Sales Rep, Samantha, soon after she emailed me a link with the contract again and for the final payment to be made. When I received the Event Overview, I carefully reviewed all the details and noticed that our food selection was modified. I emailed Samantha and conveyed that our food options were slightly changed and asked the reasoning behind it. She explained that Top Golf changed their event venue menu and with the updated menu our party’s food selection was adjusted. I think and I believe anyone else would agree that if any modifications are made to your agreed contract, it’s only appropriate for the vendor to reach out to its customers and notify them of those changes; not for the customer to find out themselves. However, I didn’t make a big fuss about it, made some changes, and produced the final payment. On the day of the event, I was one of the first to arrive, so I could check everything out before others arrived. The appetizers were already out, which they weren’t supposed to be on the tables until the start of the event at 4:00pm. Now, we are talking about queso dip sitting out in the sun for an overly extended period. Guests arrived and soon began golfing. Although the sudden change in buffet selection, the food was delicious, and everyone seemed to enjoy it. I will say as silly as this may sound, that we were originally supposed to receive chocolate chip cookies, but those never came. A group of servers were attending to our bays. After about an hour, the servers disappeared, so everyone ended up having to grab their own beverages. One of our employees ended up having to grab a platter, go to the bar to retrieve drinks, and bring them back to his group at the bay. So, with that said, servers went from helpful to nonexistent. When I asked the main server why the servers were no longer serving, she said that the servers were only allowed to serve two drinks per person, per hour. I was baffled I mean; how does that work? On top of it, we paid for a 3-hour beverage/call package. Party started at 4p, and they stopped serving drinks at 6:30p (which made it 2.5 hours). Toward the end of the event, I talked to a team leader/manager (in red shirt) to inquiry about extending our call beverage package for another hour based on the turnout of employees not showing up (we technically had $3500 in unordered beverages based on our final receipt) or if she couldn’t, that if we figured out number of attendees, would we be able to pay to extend the time. She quickly returned and said she had to decline both. But, if we wanted to stay on the Rooftop Terrace, we were more than welcome to, but we had to simply pay for our own drinks. I remember talking to one of the employees (I can’t remember her name for the life of me) about how I was disappointed in service, but also in the decision that was ultimately made about extending the call beverage package for an hour. She agreed with me and did not understand why management wouldn’t do it because they had done it for other groups before, which I found to be completely biased. We all gathered on the rooftop, and I ended up buying a round of shots (10 total) for the upper management team. As I was paying, the team leader came out and told me she had to CUT ME OFF because I ordered too many drinks, and I was over the ordering capacity. She soon started cutting everyone else off from our group. Our group was a good group of individuals, very respectful and not one person was belligerent, or incapacitant due to alcohol consumption. Top Golf sells Beer by the bucket, correct? So, they are serving 6 beers at one time to one person. I was truly flabbergasted. But I did not argue, I kind of chuckled and made my way out with most of our group soon to follow because they were cut...
Read moreI have been to Topgolf MANY times. Especially the Auburn Hills one. I usually go in a couple. But this time my partner and I thought it would be so fun, to bring some friends of ours, after a concert. This by FAR WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE WE HAVE EVER HAD AT TOPGOLF. We may never come back. Lets start with, we had a reservation at 12 am Sunday online, it told us we would get the Sunday Funday Discount. We figured out we got out of the concert way earlier than expected, we call and asked if we could come a bit earlier so about 11:30pm. On the phone they stated we can cancel our reservation, go as a walk in, and still get the discount for 12:00-1:00am. But start at 11:30pm. That did not happen. We went in and check in, straight up said that we can’t get an 11:30pm. Which is crazy because on the phone they stated we would be able to. First red flag. Second was our SERVER, I believe her name is Maddie. She took FOREVER to come and ask about drinks. As we started at 11:45, she did not come around until after Midnight. My friend asked for a water, never got the water as we all had our drinks, she asked our server for it, than the server sat down at the bay next to us, and PLAYED!!!! Ate!! and EVEN DRANK?????? On the job?? Seriously??? MIND YOU MY FRIEND STILL DID NOT HAVE HER WATER!!!!!!! We were ready to order food but guess where our server was!!!! At the bay next to us GOLFING AND DRINKING!!! We did not order food until 12:30am, 45 minutes after we had already gotten to the bay. At this point we wanted no appetizers, because of the wait. Than mind you she comes over and says “last call for food, and drinks”!! We never were even able to order anything else, and we had HARDLY ANY SERVICE. Our food and drinks were served by someone completely different as she was having fun drinking and playing at the bay 210 Next to us. We did not receive our food until about 10-13 minutes to 1:00am! So we pretty much had to hurry to choke our food down, and through everything else in to go boxes. When we got our food, she came over and instead of asking anything was, which by the way food was cold, and not as good as it usually is. She asked to close us out because we were her last open tab, than goes “but do not steal my pen”!!!! I FEEL AS if that was extremely unprofessional. We got our bill realized we did not get the discount that we were told we would get. Our 12:00am-1:00am reservation online said it was only $44. Why for 11:45pm-1:00am with crappy service was the playing time over $80. That is INSANE!! we asked about it, she had 0 answers. She brought over a manager that had no idea why online would give us the Sunday Rate for 12:00am-1:00am, stated that should not have happened. But isnt 12:00am-1:00am Sunday????? This was the worst experience ever, and we may not return to this top golf every again. It was embarrassing telling my friends on the way how amazing it is, and than to have this experience. Topgolf do better.
I also sent this review in on the website, on August 17th. On August 18th I was told someone would reach out. It is now August 27th and I have...
Read moreUpon arrival at our bay, one of the staff very rudely demanded that our family separate because there were too many of in the Bay Area (We had a baby that was in a carrier in which they said made our bay over capacity). I checked the company polices and couldn't find any such information that confirmed this rule they were trying to instill. I asked for the manager (Matt) in order to show him that there weren't any top golf policies that align with or explain our treatment. Not only was the manager (Matt) not able to provide legitimate justification as to why the he would not let my family be in the same area, but he also validated the disrespect and abuse we were receiving from staff (There were other families that they allowed to be together who didn't adhere to their made up policies). After I pointed this this out to him he acknowledged that they were not adhering to the made up policy, but he allowed them to stay together. Our waiter was also extremely rude and refused to serve me any food for no reason. The waiter was reminded several times that I wasn't being served and he responded with a horrible attitude every time. After he gave the bills, my mother patiently and calmly reminded him for the last time that I have not yet been served ( this was over 2 hours into our stay here). The male staff then confronted my mother, got directly into her face, pointed his hands to her forehead and yelled for her to get out. Both of my parents are honorable service members and did not serve the disrespect and hatred that this place displayed. Another manager attempted to solve the issue by personally serving my food. When I got home and opened the box I was horrified and extremely disappointed at what I saw. They served me old/ cold fries which appeared to be scraped from other people's leftovers. There was hair and what I believe to be spit mixed in with the food. In addition they doused it in salt. It became evident to me at that moment that they never intended to rectify the issue and that they intentionally attended to harm me with what I was served . I attached a picture of what I received vs. what I was supposed to receive. I want to note that we were one of the only black families here this day. I am not sure if that was the reasoning behind our treatment but I have never received such horrific and terrible service in my life. Overall, I found the staff to be extremely rude and unreasonable as to how they treated my family. I will not recommend this...
