Only thing I have to say that could be portrayed as a negative, is the fact I didn’t find this place sooner!!! That’s on me though don’t get it twisted!!
And for those skeptical on the bad reviews, IMO, they are unfounded/ biased. For the simple fact of If someone is to boil their meats and think using less than 3 seasonings is good food.. don’t even bother, your taste buds will have a aneurism 😂 I have no idea why someone should write such bad things about this place while having pics of perfectly prepared food made with love and soul.. anyway-
Inside the store is a neo-modern style layout with an open kitchen design and honestly they make it look chic and thought out, while still appealing to casual customers. Like you can 100% bring a date here OR causal meal with the homies. Or a date with the homies, no judgment 🤣👀
Even now almost 6+ hours later, I am still blown away at their fair prices and quality of food. Heard about this joint from word of mouth and sure 20m wait time seems like a lot [ and if it is, call it in BEFORE your break and pick it up after the wait time] but for 3 different plates of food, all made to utter perfection??? There’s not a time limit to quality. If you want food that’s NOT made to order, PIPING HOT OFF the grill, or made FRESH, ACTUALLY fresh? Go to McDonald’s.
I got 2 Philly loaded up with seasoned fries, the chefs pasta ( shrimp, sausage chicken) and 6pc hot honey LP wings. All with, sweet tea, half-half and a pink lemonade half-half.. legitimately, How did yall get the sauce to have such complex flavor profiles???? It is beyond impressive.. the heat didn’t over power the sweet, which wasn’t over powering the LP.. all balanced so well it didn’t feel real. Philly was absolutely delicious and surprised me as ( clearly) I eat a lot and I damn near couldn’t finish the Philly in one sitting.. as a BigBack this is the highest praise I can give..
Nevertheless, I stuffed myself beyond my stomachs capacity HAPPILY. And I will definitely be making this a spot I keep close to my heart ( and stomach) as well as returning for almost every lunch break I get.
Prices were more than fair as I said before, for all that I got it was under 50$ ( 30 for both Philly w/ seasoned fries, 2 drinks and the wings) 20 was the chef pasta w a large Sweet Tea . As for all that was in the pasta, Philly’s, the size of the portions AND the fact they SEASONED everything perfectly is more than reason to come back again and again. Ima need that sauce and pasta recipe ASAP. I swear yall seasoned the pasta itself.
. I need yall to be 24/7 so I can come for midnight snack!!! Im so serious 😂😂
Not Glazing or being overly supportive, I’m being so deadass, one of my new top spots for Augusta. I love to support small businesses & especially black owned. 🫱🏻🫲🏿♥️
Sir/ma’am, thank you for the delicious food, awesome atmosphere and overall incredible experience. I pray for absolute abundance in your future success. Godbless! I WILL BE BACK TOMORROW.
[ note:] I didn’t put pics bcz I ate it too fast before I could take it. 😅 so here’s the To-go box...
Read moreThis place came highly recommended and I had the pleasure of going Saturday after rounding at the hospital and tried the chef salad as recommended by a friend of mines. It was great and the proportion was huge. I also had the cookies and strawberry/Key lime cake on that day and it was good. There was a jovial lady at the register that day.
Went today and I was in between patients so I'm in a rush. As I'm walking up to the front door I realize I still have on my hospital mask under my chin so I pulled it up before entering. Its second nature to wear it as the infection rates are high in my line of work. The workers spoke when I came in but I was kind of in a rush so i said a soft hi as i was reading the lunch specials to see if anything piqued my interest although I came for the chef salad. I decided to go with what I know and ordered the chef salad. I ordered quickly and for some reason I felt tension from the person behind the cashier. I thought maybe he thought I didnt speak, I'm from the south so I do speak back when people speak to me.
Anyway it was apparent something was wrong as after I placed the order and began to walk away, he told me to get my receipt and literally wagged it at me. I didnt feel comfortable at all so I stood by the door and just peeked outside. While im in there they spray some strong disinfectant which you should never do any aerosol spray due to allergies and how bad it is on breathing. He made sure to get near me. The him and the other man began making jokes about how dumb people are riding in their cars with masks when its their own air they are breathing.
I was so flabbergasted and being alone with 2 men at this time, I just took my food and almost ran out of there. Im all for supporting local businesses but I will not tolerate being harassed or feeling uncomfortable
The chef salad...

Seriously, Augusta, what is going on here?! I Heard all the hype, saw the TikToks, thought I'd give Coleman's a try. BIG MISTAKE if you value your time AT ALL. The owners sure don't! Pulled up around lunchtime, and the line was already looking rough, but I figured, "Okay, popular place, worth a bit of a wait." "A bit" turned into an HOUR AND FORTY-FIVE MINUTES just to get my food. Yes, you read that right. Nearly TWO HOURS. The wait time is not an exaggeration, it's a full-blown commitment you didn't sign up for. I was told it would be "a bit of a wait" which translated into an eternity. Ludicrous, absurd and totally unacceptable!
By the time I got my order, I was past hungry and just plain pissed. I don't care how good the food might be, NO lunch is worth that kind of outrageous wait. It felt completely disorganized, like they have no system to handle the volume they're getting. To make matters, it was an absolute JOKE.
The hype is clearly drawing crowds they absolutely cannot handle. There's no efficiency, just a chaotic line of increasingly hangry people. My entire lunch break, and then some, was wasted. The food might be good (wouldn't know, I left!), but it's not worth sacrificing your entire afternoon.
If you're in Augusta and looking for a quick or even reasonably timed meal, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. There are plenty of other spots that will actually feed you before you expire from hunger and frustration. This place needs a serious reality check on their operations or they're just going to keep burning through potential customers. Consider this your public service announcement. Don't do it!
Save yourself the headache and the wasted time. This was my first and DEFINITELY my last visit to THIS black owned and operated fiasco. You've...
