Located near the heart of downtown Augusta, Humanitree House serves as both a venue for art as well as a place to eat and socialize. The menu specializes in vegan dishes, with vegan takes on familiar fares such as cheeseburgers, as well as unique dishes and their own beverages and smoothies. The ingredients they use are fresh and the service was fast and friendly. The vibes of the restaurant are unique and reflect the heart of downtown Augusta; creative, bold, and expressive. As for the menu, I tried the vegan bacon cheeseburger, the lentil and kale soup, as well as a lemonade with ginger and cayenne. The vegan burger was good, made fresh and in comparison to a regular cheese burger, you feel guilt free and not as bloated after consumption. Only gripe for the burger was the firmness of the vegan patty itself. The patty was very mushy and fell apart almost immediately, definitely needed a longer time to be cooked and seared on the outside. Not sure whether this was the norm or a one time occurrence, but it did affect the overall taste of the burger. The lentil and kale soup was very good. The broth was rich in flavor and not one ingredient was overbearing. The lemonade was alright, definitely a unique drink and the cayenne added an unexpected offset to the flavor, would not recommend to those sensitive to heat. Overall was a pleasant...
Read moreI was so interested in trying this restaurant out until today! My co-worker went to there today and order a veggie burger with no sauce....he gets his sandwich and there's sauce on. He turns around and lets the cashier know that his sandwich wasn't prepared the way he ordered. She kindly takes that burger back and returns it within 5 mins. Initially took 15 mins to prepare the burger. Well, he gets outside and looks at the trimming on the burger and what does he find.....you guessed it. They wiped the sauce off the burger instead of preparing him another one. Which is disrespectful and nasty! The total cost of the burger was between $8-9, which is quite expensive for someone to disrespect ones food wiping off with a knife, or paper towel, or fingers....hey who knows what they used. All in all, respect your customer request, time and money and they will return and not have such bad things to say about your business.
Update: So I although I still haven't tried this restaurant for myself. I really appreciate the feedback from the owner. Her response went well beyond what most offer in terms of customer service and for that alone I have decided to re-evaluate my review and hope to one day try Humanitree...
Read moreOut door seating, sidewalk cafe feeling, deceptive looking windows, and an innocent looking doorway, all hid an extremely intimate interior, which was alive with color a warm ambiance and some incredible hand painted murals on all of the walls. The food is all vegan, and it will be very difficult to choose an item that you will not like...And the service like the food is great. Courteous personal staff, all supported by the owners who move around making sure that your experience is memorable. You must take a moment to examine the interiors walls for some visually stimulating murals all hand painted. The owner does not use a brush, every bit of art is done using only his hands and fingers...but the result is an amazing production that must be seen to believe. There is also a stage where live music can be enjoyed. We were fortunate to be there to enjoy an evening of live Blues music performed by a group from Atlanta. The place is deceptive looking from the outside, the environment on the inside is enticing, the food is great and the service excellent. We will be adding Humanitree on our list of best places in downtown...
