Disappointing Experience - Limited Menu, Rude Service
I recently dined at the new restaurant downtown, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that this establishment was not up to par with the vibrant culinary scene that the area has to offer.
One of the immediate letdowns was the absence of a liquor license, resulting in only mocktails being available. This limitation wouldn't have been an issue if the mocktails were creatively crafted and flavorful, but unfortunately, they were lackluster at best.
Moreover, the lack of a proper menu was perplexing. The tapas-style concept isn't new to downtown, and the absence of a distinct identity made this restaurant seem like just another cookie-cutter addition to the existing options.
What truly marred my experience was the service. The staff's demeanor was consistently rude and condescending. It's disheartening to visit a restaurant and feel judged based on appearances. As someone who appreciates fine dining, I expect to be treated with respect, regardless of my appearance.
For those seeking a refined dining experience, I urge you to explore the excellent establishments nearby. My previous reviews highlight some exceptional spots like Frog Hollow Tavern, Craft and Vine, Cork and Flame, Manuels Bread Cafe, Brinkleys, Edgars above Broad, and more. These establishments are just minutes away and consistently provide outstanding service and delectable cuisine.
In the end, my visit to the new downtown restaurant was disappointing. It's my hope that the management takes these criticisms constructively and works towards creating an experience that truly stands out in the competitive dining landscape of our area.
Edit: I read some of the other reviews on this place to see if others shared my thoughts, but after some closer inspection I found that most of the 5-star reviews are coming from what look like fake accounts (newly created and no previous reviews of other businesses). If you look at other reviews of nearby businesses you'll see reviews submitted by Local Guides who have reviewed countless other establishments.
I'm seeing reviews for Lenox by people claiming that the "food" is amazing, but the only other place they have ever reviewed was a Bojangles â and similar reviews that don't highlight that there is no menu, only wings/sliders/tacos is really perplexing to me. I also want to re-iterate that there is no alcohol.
I urge the owner of this establishment to focus more on getting a menu pushed out and service rather than trying to farm false reviews. The people who appreciate fine dining, and review places can see through the facade. I understand that this place has just opened, so I will return in 3 months to try it again and will update my review then on the experience. This place could be a very nice, upscale, cultural hub if...
Read moreSo for date night last night Starr and I was going to go to our spot which is Soy Noodle, but i wanted to try something different. So i decided to walk to Lenox on 10th and see if we could give it a try.
The set the environment, first off it wasnât packed but it was steady. We got there around 8 last night. We walked in and was instantly greeted and seated. Our sever was Keesh, but my tables was touched by 3 different people on multiple occasions. The menu is pretty simple, with a tapas style menu with âAtlantaâ vibes. First impressing we off to a great start
Drinks:
Starr ordered the Dirty Bird and i ordered the Big Payback. Our drinks were very strong! Who complains about too much liquor. I had to get the juice mix to go with mine. So for me my drink actually stretched into two! Starr drink was strong as well. They were willing to tweak it on the spot but we was good! Drinks 10/10
Food:
We ordered 4 items of the menu. Jerk Egg Rolls Firecracker Salmon Tacos Surf N Turf Tacos Cornbread Crabcakes
Not exaggerating but they were all 10/10 for me. Iâm very picky with food. Being in the Food and Beverage Industry for 15+ years i do have high expectations when it comes to food. The food taste fresh. I can tell the food didnât sit in the window, plate presentation was dope. They werenât lazy on any plates we received. The portions was very good. Overall taste was great
The Jerk Egg Rolls had a little kick to them and came with a great sauce to dip them in. Moist on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Definitely wanted more after eating Jerk Egg Rolls10/10 Surf N Turf Tacos were good! They were a nice size and filled with steak and topped with shrimp. Came with sour cream and lime. I believe cheese was grill to the tortilla. Streak and shrimp well season and full of flavor. Surf N Turf Tacos 9/10 Cornbread Crabcakes came two per order. A very nice size with a lil kick. They came drizzled with a sauce that was just enough to enjoy with the crab cake. Very delicious and you can taste the ingredients in every bite Cornbread Crabcakes 10/10 FIRECRACKER SALMON TACOS was saved for last! They came with a coleslaw and a cheese , plated with sour cream and lime. The salmon was moist and seasoned to perfection. I should have ordered two of them. I canât remember all the ingredients in it so Iâm going to go try them again. Firecracker Salmon Tacos 20/10
Overall my experience was great. The owners sat outside and greeted and spoke to everyone who entered and left. The staff is dope and very helpful to each other. I observed other tables and everyone was getting the same great service and the plates were looking uniformed. Definitely going to be a regular spot...
Read moreMy wife, daughter, and I wanted to try Lenox on 10th for a bunch. We did (04/27) and left with mixed emotions about the restaurant. We made reservations through the website and arrived at the time scheduled. I gave the receptionist my name and explained that we had a reservation. She wasnât aware of a reservation and looked puzzled. It was an issue with her, and she escorted us in and asked us where we would like to be seated. We chose a window table. The only issue for us was that we would have left earlier. Our server arrived, identified herself, and offered to bring us water, which we thanked her for. After bringing the water, she asked if we wanted to order drinks, and we agreed. My daughter ordered the âBottomless Mimosa.âOur server said she had to check on availability. She returned and stated that they had no mimosa glasses, so it was not available. I have a later comment on this. We made other selections. We placed our orders. My wife had the Chicken and Waffles, daughter had the 2 Advil and Egg Burger (no onions), and I had Crab Cakes and Grits. I asked our server what type of grits (stone grits, yellow grits, cheesy grits), she stated that they were just grit and we can add cheese to it. My daughterâs food came out first with the onions which she asked specifically not to be placed on her burger. My wife and mine arrived â23 minutesâ after my daughterâs food. Most efficient restaurants attempt to bring a tableâs food out as closely as possible so everyone can eat together. This was a big minus to me. Note* On the âbottomless mimosas,â we noticed during our waiting for drinks and our food, patrons were being served âmimosas.â What gives! On the food, we all agreed the food was a solid 5. We did not deduct because of the onions. I will note that my wifeâs Chicken and Waffle came with âTwo Wings.â We have had chicken and waffles a lot in many cities and this was a first. So to wrap it up:
The food definitely a plus.
Background music a plus
Atmosphere - minus (flies were an issue)
Server - Extremely friendly, polite, and courteous. However, attentiveness to our table was lacking. At the end of our meal, after paying for the meal, she was to bring my receipt. I had to ask another server to bring me the receipt after waiting a lengthy amount of time.
This was our first time and my experience at Lenox...
