From the Owner amd Foundee of Class A Travel The Overall Rating for Luigi's this place gets 5/5 Shells for this one of a kind experience.
For the Class "A" real Greek Italian and Mediterranean feel all wrapped into one place, head on over to Luigi's in Augusta, GA!!! It is a 5 Generation Family Based restaurant that mixes Greek and Mediterranean with their own special touch that is heavenly. It will be well worth the trip no matter how far away it is from your location. I will be doing a live feed from the establishment at a later date, but it is a place you have to experience at least once in your lifetime. You dont want to miss out on great food, and the beauty on the inside.
When you first get there there is a canopy with the name on it. It reminded me of when the VIP Limos would drive up and you would walk down a red carpet, if they had one, into the establishment.
When you walk in you are immediately taken back by its beauty. It was not like anything I had expected from the outside alone. There are 2 beautiful chandeliers that are perched on the ceiling and arches are placed beautifully along the sides. It has an old Italy feel to it and it is just the beginning of the journey.
You are greeted by the hostess, which could be one of the many family members that work there and as she or he seats you, they do it with a smile. No sooner than we sat down there was no wait on or waitress. She was very prompt, highly knowledgeable, and you could tell that she took pride in the establishment that she worked in. I can't remember the name of the waitress so I will update soon her name. She was not like the normal ones you find at lesser Italian establishments... No she had a very enjoyable vocabulary especially when describing the meal they had to offer. She was very pleasant and more establishments should follow her lead.
We, my boyfriend and I, decided on the 2 dishes below, I will update actually the names of them later. We were hoping that it wouldn't take long because we had a show to go to and did not want to be late to, but that was not the case here. As we waited our waitress brought out freshly made bread that melted in your mouth. We didn't even need butter because it was just that good.
Finally our meals cam out hot and fresh. The smell was mouthwatering and I couldn't wait to savor the first bite. I made sure I took a pic the meals before we started eating because I knew there would be none left. When I cut into the dish it was smooth sailing for my utensils. It was hot so I had to blow on it to cool it down, which made me laugh because I was so Eagar to try it. The first bite is something I will never forget. It was heaven in my mouth with the sauce and texture. It was not hard to chew and it just melts in your mouth with every bite. None of just one ingredient overpowered any other, it was a perfect blend. I could not stop smiling and eating this great meal. I savored it. It was the right amount/serving on the plates that once we cleared our plates it wasn't because we were greedy amd scarfed it down ha ha it was because it was the perfect amount for the meal itself. We didn't feel like a brick was in our stomachs and we both were completely satisfied.
This place is totally worth the trip, and If you go there, snap a photo, and post it on the Class A Travel Facebook Page under the review I gave there for Luigi's, I will gift to you a 8 Days 7 Nights, or a 3 Day 2 Night Voucher. Compliments of Class A Travel. Thank you for the great food I will be back...
Read moreI have always been a longtime fan of Luigis, but was disappointed with whom I was told was the owner. As a syndicated radio host, I have been all over the United States. Often, with a large party. Tonight we were a party of 5, and were seated in a table for 2!!! TO add to this, I could not even extend my right elbow because there was a pole preventing that from happening. Two of us were ordering pizzas, and just those two items would of never fit on this table for 2.
When we asked to move, I was absolutely baffled(as our entire party) that the owner explained "on this one exception, she would grant us the right to sit a table for 6." When I was kidding with my cousin that "exception? Normally we want our customers to be as uncomfortable as possible," the owner interjected herself into the conversation(didnt even know she was listening" because I am sure this a woman who cannot stand to be wrong. But in this case, you were wrong to 1)even mention that this was a favor for us. We are a party of 5 with two large people. We spent $200 in your establishment. Is adding one person that big of a deal to you or making regular customers(my cousin is) happy??? 2)Why even interject and escalate an unhappy customer that simply could not understand that you would of NORMALLY WANTED A CUSTOMER TO BE AS UNCOMFORTABLE EATING IN YOUR BUSINESS AS POSSIBLE, which is where you sat us to begin with.
As I mentioned, we spent $200 and were there less than one hour. The waitresses were amazing, and I enjoyed the food, but owner....I made sure to watch those other 2 table of 6's during busiest 7pm eating time. Neither of your other 2 tables of 6 were ever occupied. Neither was your half the establishment. I think I know why. You have great food. You have great servers. What is wrong? Why isn't this placed packed at 7pm? IIt used to be before Mommy and Daddy gave you their success! Take the advice, admit your wrong, and change your poor attitude before it costs you another customer. ;) I hope you treat your great employees better than that.
I really want to post interaction on video to see what people think, but will save you the embarrassment. I just will never be back. And already know "you dont care"...bc you made that very obvious. I sensed my disagreement ...I am sure you thought about "taking this exception that we were suppose to be so grateful for away," but again...it is the worst thing to tell customers and you have to know my cousin eats there...
Read moreThe ambiance was quaint, and the staff hospitable, but the service and food was sub par.
The food - The spaghetti with sauce was forgettable, except for the overbearing flavor of I'm not sure what. The pasta was well past done, and a second longer in the water they would have turned to paste. The veal scallopini was over done and a bit tough, perhaps it was previously frozen as well, and the sauce was not horrible, but my wife made better two days later. The eggplant parmesan might have been decent, but it had the same overbearing red sauce the spaghetti had, so not so good.
The service - We were seated withing two minutes of entering, though we nearly crushed the couple paying at the counter on the way in. It's just too cramped right there. The table was clean, if not dated (are they the original tables?). Our wait person took our drink order (two waters) then returned with them and a basket if club crackers and butter - not bread sticks, crackers (seriously?). Our food came very quickly, which surprised me (all, looking back at the quality of our food, I'm no longer surprised). However, when trying to order a beer, a Peroni which was not on the menu, it took several attrpmts to get our wait persons attention, by which time I was nearly half way through my meal.
I was shocked at how bad both the service and food we're. We had heard quite good things from a co-worker who had just been there. Looking back, I realize that most locals don't really know what good Italian food is, so I can't really blame them for thinking it was so great. I would not suggest this place to anyone, not even a local who doesn't know better. They are better off going...
