So I normally come here because it's the best deal, for the best food, for a quick bite to eat. When I walked up to the door at 11am, there was a sign that said "Due to short staffing, the lobby is closed." Okay, fair enough, no one really wants to work (at all) for any wage that won't buy them a 3,000 sq ft house, car, and support a family of 5.
I got back in my truck, and went through the drive through, figuring all of their efforts and workers would be focused on that. I pulled up to the order kiosk after the car in front of me left and...... nothing. No voice asking to take my order, no one saying welcome, we'll be right with you... nothing. After about 3-4 minutes of no response I said "Hello? is there anyone available?" About 30 seconds later I get someone to take my order. I ordered a Dave's double large combo with a large chocolate frosty (YUM!) , and an order of the saucy nugs, because, why not? I hadn't tried them yet.
When I pulled up to the window a young man took my card (and money), handed it back, and said it will be right out. 12 minutes later, I'm still waiting. While I am waiting I see an employee standing around randomly, sometimes looking up at the monitor like he's ready to help, and then not. A little later I see him and a man in a Wendy's polo shirt talking to someone at the counter. Their lobby is closed, so safe to say, it's probably an employee, which is confirmed when I see one walking past them on a cell phone.
So in my mind, if your lobby is closed due to short staffing, and you only have your drive through running, every employee in there should be *holes and elbows trying to get people taken care of in that drive through. In stead, 1 guy is apparently working all of the food stations (more on that later) while 3 people are standing around at the counter to the (closed) lobby. I finally get my food and ask if I can talk with a manager. I admit there was someone behind me but I didn't think it's matter since they've got at least a 12 minute wait for their food anyway. The manager comes up, and it is apparently the guy in the polo that was BSing at the counter. I basically said, "I understand you're short staffed, but between trying to get someone so I can order my food, and actually getting it, I've been waiting for over 15 minutes with no one in front of me. During that time, you've had 3 employees standing around doing, from what I can see, not a damned thing. You need to fix this." I could tell by his mumbled response (past the piercings), that what I said went in one pierced ear and out the other.
After my 10 minute drive home, my food was absolutely stone cold. Not "it cooled off on the drive home and isn't hot any more" but more "it's been sitting in a lukewarm tray while one guy scrambles around to put the semi-warm parts together while everyone else **cks off" kind of cold.
$30 for non-existent service, a 15 minute wait, and cold, nasty food. W... T... F....
Edit: I just wanted to come back and state I will never come here again. Maybe for a chocolate frosty on my way home, but if I'm going to spend $30 on crappy, sketchy food and no service for ONE person, I'd rather just go to a sit-down place, and pay the same (or less) for food that...
Read moreI took my five year-old granddaughter to get a kids meal and a frosty, since it was A nice warm summer day. It was lunchtime, and the place was relatively empty, fortunately for me. The girl at the register saw us, but waited to finish her task before asking to take our order, which went very smoothly. However, she claimed that she does not work the front and started to complain, which in this day and age seems to be a common practice. After I was given my food and went to open the kids meal, I noticed that my granddaughter’s four pieces of nuggets were disgusting. There was one nugget that looked like it literally had a bite missing. I immediately brought it to the counter while I waited to be seen. I said this looks like it has a bite and she aggressively stated “no this happens. It happens sometime ..it’s from the tongs. It’s normal”. I stated it doesn’t look normal… And I took the new four piece nugget that she handed me…and proceeded to bark at me to remove the nugget box off her counter , because I did sit the box there to show her ….I was shocked that I was receiving an attitude instead of an apology. The food was disgusting and the service was way worse. As I sat down, a man came in complaining about a hair in his burger… Management needs to do something about this Wendy’s I cannot find the franchise owner’s name anywhere as I looked online and even under the Augusta tax records. I called the number listed and it was disconnected. I will never again go to Civic Center...
Read moreI went through the drive through with 4 kids to get them 4 for 4 option. The staff was pleasant, and I didn’t have any issues going through. However, we get to our destination 10 minutes away and I realize we have NO NUGGETS. Obviously this is annoying, but I really don’t want to drive back so I decide to just have the kids split sandwiches and I will call to get my refund. This is the problem. They will not give me a refund. I was offered a coupon. Irritated, I decide to just drive back and get the kids their dang nuggets. I get there and explain the situation, the woman simply hands me the nuggets. I get no apology and no refund and no offer for next time. This is not good customer service especially after I just wasted half an hour of my day on this nonsense, and what was supposed to be...
