I came to this food truck with my friends for dinner. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala ($12) and Paratha Tacos with Lamb ($12). The Chicken Tikka Masala tasted good but was nothing special. The Paratha Tacos were unique, delicious, and full of flavor. However, the service was not great because when the worker handed me my food, I proceeded to check if everything was in there and the worker said don’t worry everything is in there and rushed me out - surely enough the worker forgot to put one of my items into the bag and I had to get it later. But overall a great place for Indian food in West Campus.

Chat Patta Austin is an absolute gem for anyone craving bold, flavorful Indian street food with a creative twist. Their Paratha Taco Chicken is a must-try — perfectly crispy paratha wrapped around juicy, well-seasoned chicken, creating a mouthwatering fusion of Indian and Tex-Mex flavors. Each bite bursts with spice, texture, and freshness. The Masala Fries are another highlight — crispy on the outside, soft inside, and tossed in just the right amount of tangy, spicy masala seasoning that keeps you reaching for more.

It’s a food truck in downtown Austin close to University of Texas housing. It shares a truck park lot alongside trucks of other cuisines like Brazilian, Mediterranean, pizza, Icecream, chicken truck, cell phone repair truck…… The food a bit pricey on par with restaurant prices. For example an order of Paneer roll consists of one roll made with readymade tortilla whit spread of mayonnaise and lettuce and few pieces of paneer tikka masala curry for about $10.

Foods is great. I got one spicy(hot) and one medium chicken tikka masala and the flavor on the spicy(mine, my brother had the other) was really good I just wish there was more chicken but honestly every place I've been to pretty much does the same that is better tasting or more authentic. Still a good amount of chicken though actually. I saw too late about their tacos being really good or the biryani supposedly is a best seller I guess atleast that's what one of the apps suggested. I'll definitely be back but I wonder if there is a way to get more chicken for an upcharge without having to get a whole nother order. I would get a third order and split it will my brother but he holds out on the spice which is how I like my food. I guess the guy that took my order said it's hot cause there is another option to get really spicy but the hot was pretty perfect though now I am curious haha. I plan on having a couple beers and super spicy and beer can make one heck of a combo in the morning if you catch my drift. Late at night its hard to find good food or more diverse food like this place at least that i know of and they arent terribly far away from me. They definitely get bonus points for staying open real late. I edited my original response and am changing it from a 4 to a 5 star. Well done I'll...

This is a solid food spot if you want to try some Indian food. They have some authentic dishes but also some fusion foods. I tried the butter chicken and chicken biriyani. I got the medium spice level, but I was a little disappointed. I recommend you get the spicy because for me the medium felt a little bland. The flavors were ok, but the missing spice impacted my experience a lot. It also felt very catered towards Americans, which I understand, but I felt that a few more spices could have elevated the dish to a better final product.

My food took a very long time to come out. They also prepared the dishes out of order, so some people behind me got their food first. There was quite a long line, so I was not too mad about this. This food truck is located in a food truck court, and the ambiance there is great. Even if you don't go here, I highly recommend you check out the 26th street food trucks (where this place is located).

Overall, it was a solid experience, but the flavors were a little lacking. Next time, I will make sure to try the...

2/15/23: Everything on the menu is consistently fantastic! Anything less than 5 stars is an insult!

1/23/23 edit: Thanks for the reply! Fair enough about the price, I didn't realize the Brussel Sprouts have always been more expensive than the Chaat, so my bad. I've been back since the last review and still much less chicken in Biryani than in 2022...more potato has been added, but not chicken. Still Delicious. 4 Stars

1/9/23 edit: The chicken Biryani had almost zero chicken, almost all rice.

12/20/22: I've been here 5 times, and everything on the menu has been fantastic so far. The sauce has been forgotten late at night when it was busy, but...
