I’m biased against this Orange Market because I preferred the atmosphere of the Fresh Plus that OM replaced earlier this year. OM has maintained a good stock similar to FP, but there is a smaller selection of produce. The layout of the store is more crowded (there’s now a giant table in the middle around which some snack items are displayed, but it is very space inefficient) and chaotic (there are many items in the aisles that do not have prices listed on the shelf).
The event that prompted me to write this review: I recently bought a Nemo’s Bakery snack cake from OM that tasted the way a cleaning product smells. Because online reviews of the snack cakes are positive, I hypothesize that the cakes may have been stored next to cleaning products at OM.
I give 3 stars because the inventory is still relatively great for a store in West Campus and I will probably shop there again due to its convenient location. However, shopping experiences for me depend on the atmosphere of the store equally as much as the items: so in terms of its energy/atmosphere compared to FP’s, I feel that I may not be OM’s...
Read moreThis is the former West Campus Fresh Plus location, now under new ownership. With the passage of time, there's more and more junk food, less consistency. You often cannot find the same items twice. They stopped selling good bread. The coffee grinder machine was broken the last time I was there. The fresh produce section is constantly shrinking, becoming more miserable looking. There's just no reason to be here unless you like junk food and extra large tv screens instead of real food. What a disappointment. Students deserve nutritious meals, too.
Orange Market is a fantastic example of the trust thermocline. You see, they want to maximize their profits, so they sell what buys: beer and junk food. It works for now, but their clientele will eventually stop visiting altogether when they realize the Orange Market isn't fulfilling its purpose as a grocery store. And once you reach that point, there's no getting your customers back. It's too late. Meanwhile Target is ten minutes away, and the prices are more competitive, not to mention real grocery stores in...
Read moreVery poor management. The morning shift is very angry and always talking on handsfree. He doesn't listen to your questions at all and finally answers angrily. I was looking for vanilla and he reluctantly answered that we don't have it. But in the evening I went to buy something else and asked another employee and he showed me the vanilla place. I feel that they have a lot of money and sales are not important to them. Many products are out of date. If you are going to buy, I suggest the...
