Luanne’s Coffee and Matcha — Restaurant in Austin

I barely took a couple sips but it was enough to make me excitedly and urgently write this review. I’m particular w my matcha and this is probably one of the best (if not THE best) matcha lattes I’ve had in austin. I got one matcha unsweetened w whole milk and one honey cornbread… I usually drink usucha and avoid pairing w whole milk bc i find that it often overpowers the matcha BUT I was so impressed w how well the matcha flavor comes through (especially for a drink this size). The cornbread matcha is the best iteration of a corn-inspired drink (matcha or espresso) I’ve tried so far — flavorful, true to the name, and not overly sweet. By now I’ve already downed one of the drinks, all to say I highly recommend!

I’ll start this off by saying… I don’t even like Matcha. Scoff if you’d like, but every matcha I’ve had has always underwhelmed me. Well…not today. Tucked away in a cute little house on Cesar Chavez is Luanne’s Coffee and Matcha. I had the cornbread latte, which was made with matcha, corn milk and dreams. Pro tip, make sure you stir it up well. Inside a multi function space so not a stay and hang type of place in my opinion. Limited parking (only 3 spots in the back, not including the handicap).
