I remembered seeing R&B's on IG so when I ended up in Austin for work I knew I had to check it out. Great spot tucked away in a food truck park with plenty of seating and cover from the sun. One of the owners greeted me when I walked into the park and took the time to make sure I had whatever I wanted on my sandwich and fries. Great tunes in the sun while I waited for my food to come to my table. All the ingredients were fresh. I got a steak with provolone. They definitely know how to do it right with the cheese incorporated into the meat. They also toast the bread to give it that proper Philly crunch. The fries were crispy and you could tell they were fresh and seasoned. I got mine topped with cheese and you know they are legit when a fry still crunches after being covered in whiz. You can get a cheese steak at just about any sandwich shop in America but you'd be hard pressed to find one that's top shelf outside of Philly. R&B's is the exception to the rule.

Siblings Kris and Arman are the founders of R&B's. The two serve up authentic Philly Cheesesteak Hoagies and Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches. Philadelphia is known as the "City of Brotherly Love," and these brothers have got you covered. Amerosa rolls- check. Quality steak - check. Cheeses, oh yeah, American, provolone and of course whiz. Don't forget the peppers and onions. If you wanna give it a little ATX flair, add jalapeños (Kris loves it this way). R&B's also offers a regular steak sandwich and steak hoagie which you can customize with your choices of toppings. Fries are available on the side, and i recommend getting them with cheese, jalapeños and BBQ Sauce. The truck is located in a small food truck court just off of the corner of 6th and Comal Streets. There are tables all aroubd the trucks, including some in the shade. When you need some Philly love, head over to see them. You won't be sorry!

Short story: wait 3 hours after opening to make sure it's actually open. Lots of pepper on cheesesteak. Nice humans! Long story: I've been trying to go to the food truck for a year or so now, and it's either been closed or the hours were incorrect. We went this weekend, 1 hour after it was supposed to open, and it was still closed! We waited, because pregnancy cravings are real. The guys were super nice and grateful that we waited so long. We ordered a cheese steak and loaded fries. They threw in an extra Cheesy fries for being so patient and the food taking 35+ minutes to get ready. The cheesesteak was a little too peppery (not spicy, just a lot of black pepper) for our liking, but it definitely cured the craving. Definitely look for events, because they have a small stage, and that would be super fun.

I was first hipped to this place by looking for black owned business. Read some reviews a while back and knew I had to stop. Well last night was my turn and they did not disappoint! The R&B playing immediately pulls you in. Then we were greeted by the brother at the counter with joy and a beautiful smile. The food came out fresh and hot. He presented us with 3 condemints options and told us the MVP of the 3. On first bite I was sold. Next 3 bites came with trying the different sauces. All though the sandwich doesn't need any sauce period, the bbq sauce was the favorite addition for some extra razzle for Us. The fries were hot, crispy and not at all greasy as well, even lightly seasoned. The cheese fries were amazing too! (Definitely gonna try the cheesesteak fries next time) This is my first "made in Texas" Philly cheesesteak that didn't make me frown or feel nauseous after eating! My hubby who is a picky eater, ate his so fast I had to tell him to stop trying to take my food! This truck is most definitely a Great eat! I'm just disappointed I didn't go sooner. This spot has now been added to my list of great places to eat! We will for sure be returning for more! With empty stomachs and...

Stopped by the Grackle after seeing a show on the east side and found the R&B truck outside; I’m glad sure glad I did! It was 11pm and I was ready for 2nd dinner lol and man that sandwich hit the spot. I have no real experience or opinion on a cheesesteak so I can’t speak to authenticity or correctness but it was hot, cheesy, and absolutely tasty. I got provolone, mushrooms and onions (never been a big bell pepper person), and I could taste it all! Lovely mushrooms, juicy meat, savory onions, chewy bread, melty cheese… I want another right about now… XD My husband had ordered from across the street but when he tried a bite he was a bit jealous.

The staff were super friendly also, they walked me through the differences in the sandwiches and when my friends went inside the bar they offered to bring it in to me which they did on a tray with a variety of sauces. Very nice guys giving vip treatment even at 11pm! Go see them!

I took a photo but it was dark in the bar and terrible lol just look at...
