Remedy — Restaurant in Austin

On a weekend where there was traffic from F1, Austin FC, and University of Texas at Austin football game; The Remedy Bar was a calm, relaxing respite from it all. The interior is decorated with comfy furniture that welcomes you to sit and stay for awhile and everyone from the bartenders to the owners greeted us warmly. I am an Old Fashioned snob who has never had my favorite cocktail frozen, but now it may be the only way I'll ever want it! After having 2, I see why they are limited because I was extremely smiley for the rest of the evening. I was excited to see gluten-free pizza an option for my dietary restriction, but I opted for bun-less sliders instead. They were juicy and cooked to perfection. I loved this place so much, I bought a t-shirt! I'm excited to come back to see the variety of events...

Remedy is close to where I work and decided to meet up with my friends there before seeing a show at ACL Live. It was easy to get a table, the drinks were solid and remarkably affordable given that it's downtown. My wife and I shared a BLT with Avocado and a side of fries which was a perfect pre-show snack to keep us satiated but not overly full and both were excellent.

This ended up being a great rendezvous where I could actually have a conversation with my friends. Remedy breaks the mold of other Austin bars for two reasons:

#1 Being able to hold a conversation without shouting at one another #2 Having reasonably priced drinks

I'd give an extra bonus star if I could just for having John Wick playing on one of the TVs...

I’ve been coming to this spot since it was Trifecta, and the transformation into Remedy is a huge upgrade. The space feels so much bigger and more open now… it’s way more comfortable, and the updated decor gives it a much more polished, welcoming vibe without losing its laid-back Austin charm.

The food is probably my favorite part. The pretzels are legit addictive, and the pizza is easily some of the best in town. It’s one of those places where you can drop in casually for a drink and end up staying for a full meal (and maybe another drink or two).

It’s been really cool to see the evolution of this space. Remedy definitely feels like it’s a new vibe. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a chill, quality spot...
