The service at this place was subpar and the food was average. I would rate it poorly.
We were seated and it took about 10-15 minutes for the server to take our drink orders. Some people were not ready to order, so the server said she would come back later. However, she did not return until we flagged her down to let her know we were ready. It took another 10 minutes for her to come back and take our order.
The drinks were slowly brought to us, and we received bottled Coca Colas. When the server placed the bottle on the table, I asked if they had diet soda by saying "no tienen diet?" She looked confused and did not understand what "diet" meant. But when I said "dieta," she informed me that the soda machine was down.
The food also came out slowly, taking about 30 minutes, and the seafood bag came out last, an hour later. Many members of our party did not get to eat together. When we asked about the delay, she explained that the management did not anticipate a busy night and there were only two workers in the kitchen. It would have been helpful to know this before we sat down.
The imitator was alright, but the music was excessively loud. As a musician, I understand that Mexicans enjoy loud music, but this was annoyingly loud. The imitator was singing along with Juan Gabriel tracks instead of using “pistas” or instrumentals without his voice. This created a clash between the imitator and the original Juan Gabriel tracks.
Based on my knowledge of Mexican restaurants, the best ones usually have male servers, waitstaff, and bussers. The service provided by the female staff at this restaurant was lacking. I understand that the restaurant has a theme, but good service is essential, especially since the staff represents the face of the business. I have informed my family that I will never visit this restaurant again and would prefer to drive to Bucaneros in...
Read moreWow this place was rocking when we stepped through the door. Ive always been a fan of live music especially when there are brass instruments involved. Feeling the vibration from a player with good tone elevates the spirit. The place wasnt the biggest place but the scenery was remarkable. The waitresses were beautiful and the food was excellent. The singers were good and the band played well. I was even allowed to sing a note or two😁.
The only criticism I have is with the music even though I enjoyed it. Unfortunately I enjoyed it for the first 15 minutes but after that I was getting annoyed because the music was extremely loud. Now I was told that that particular style of music is supposed to be loud. I guess so. Dont want to question anyone's cultural norms. Its seems to me that it could have been a much better experience if the music was played at different levels especially considering that we were indoors. I can understand if we were outside. Indoors the sound has no place to go so when the horns are blaring while the drums are banging hard and the singer is singing loud into the mic which is only 1/8 of an inch from his mouth it just becomes noise boucing around in a room. Music has levels especially when there are voices and multiple instruments. All the instruments shouldn't be played at the same volume throughout the entire song. It could of been so much better, but other than that...
Read moreI was expecting a lot more from this place because of the simple fact that it is SO HYPED over that I figured I had to try it out for myself & ended up extremely disappointed. The drink I got tasted like artificial watermelon with alcohol, when I was told their agua frescas were made fresh & this drink was supposed to be the sandia agua Fresca with mint & a few other refreshing bits - from a powder packet maybe? I told the server I wasn’t a fan and she took it… I got offered a shot for an additional charge which I said no thank you to…. And still got charged for the drink that I didn’t drink or get a replacement for? I was left wondering with my check, had I asked or had the drink replaced, would I have been charged for both? Also, the shrimp ceviche I got - wasn’t sure if the limes were fresh? Because the ceviche tasted like it was sitting in a bath of chemicals, wasn’t brought over any crackers or tostadas and had to ask if I was able to get any and not just eat the ceviche by itself? My friend got the tilapia and it was just plain and didn’t taste like anything. The fish was cold and chewy, the fries were probably the best part of her plate & those weren’t even that great. They had a cardboard like texture… I would say the service was just okay, maybe 6/10. The server seemed confused and mislead. She tried. Overall experience, 3/10, will not...
