This was a great pick me up on a real dud of a day. Honestly, one of the best Indian restaurants I've been to. The only better I can think of was a tent in the black hills, so hit this one up when you've got the chance. We were seated quickly, right next to a cool stone sculpture of an Indian temple (?). We ordered the paneer chilli as an appetizer, tandoori chicken, and the house chicken curry with some garlic naan bread. Before the food came a sort of seeded cracker with two types of chutneys. Think Indian chips and salsa, but not at all those flavors. The cracker was kind of bitter with seeds, but the chutneys were both fairly sweet. It wasn't my favorite thing, but I enjoyed being able to try something new. The paneer chilli came out hot, crispy, and coated in a super delicious chilli sauce. We ordered everything mild. The tandoori chicken was so tender, and the sauce that came with it was smooth and creamy. The house chicken curry was a new one, but we enjoyed it, and noticed it came with a lot more chicken pieces than other Indian restaurants we've visited. The naan bread here is unique. The restaurant sells curry pizza, and the naan bread seemed to be a little more like pizza dough and didn't have the traditional naan shape. We were well taken care of and always had enough water and rice, and we had plenty of food to take home with us. Addition: Came back again and ordered the veggie samosas, paneer palaak (saag), and the tandoori chicken and naan. The samosas were a thin, piping hot pastry with a comforting potato mash inside. They were filling and homey. The palaak paneer was very good and a but spicy. The tandoori chicken was good like last time, though the pieces seemed smaller. The naan was very light and delicious. Good stuff.

It’s a five stars for sure except they tricked us on Nepali thali(contains-wise but the taste was great), the momo was juicy and delicious, and the chicken chowmein was amazingly tasty!! The service was great!!

We went Austin for weekend fortunately we found this restaurant to satisfy our hunger. We were looking for Indian restaurant and combat to Kathmandu kitchen was nearest restaurant and highly rated which I think they justify by their dishes. We have ordered multiple dishes like thupka soup, sekiuwa, chicken momos, chicken curry, goat curry etc. Start with Momos, amazing and totally extraordinary in taste. Just like we used to eat in India and in Nepal too. I think this is best momos I have in States so far and then comes the chicken sekuwa a traditional Nepalese dish, also amazing in taste. Their curries were delicious and nan bread looks authentic tandoori. Though we didn't like their Thupka Soup and was not at all like thupka. They made it something else in name of thupka. But rest of the dishes were amazing and would to try again if we ever been to Austin. Service is one of the area where they need to improve.

My mom and I went here for dinner. The restroom had a leaking toilet and water all over the floor in the bathroom and the restaurant itself had a smell to it, so we decided to get take out. No one else was in the place at 7pm on a Saturday. The appetizer, Paneer Chilli, was excellent, spicy like I prefer. Veggie korma was okay, kind of surprised that it had water chestnut in it, not necessarily bad surprised. Naan was good, but didn't seem to have the cashews and raisins inside that it was supposed to, just the coconut. So, nothing quite worthy of just one star yet, right?

So, here's what happened: after we finish our food, I pick up the kheer we got for dessert. It's a bit watery for kheer, but that's okay, it's the flavor that matters. I take one bite. My nose is a bit stuffed up, thanks to allergies, but something seems off in the flavor. Instead of swallowing the mouthful, I keep chewing until I can put my finger on what's wrong. Within seconds the HORROR of what is in my mouth begins to dawn on me. It tasted like somebody had cooked cigarettes into the kheer. I had an instant where my brain was trying to determine if somebody had lit up a cigarette in our living room or if it was actually possible that such a flavor was originating from the spoonful of dessert in my mouth. I had to decide between spitting it out on my plate or rushing to the kitchen sink. I ran for the sink and made it just in time to spit it out as I'm gagging and trying not to throw up at the absolutely WRONG taste in my mouth. My mom smelled the kheer (she wasn't brave enough to taste it) and she said it smelled rotten and bad. It took me over an hour to get over that one spoonful of kheer, including strong drinks and...
