Is this supposed to be like San Diego style mexican food? Because it's not. As a native San Diegan, I have to temper my expectations of food like this.
With that being said, this is fair at best. Do yourself a favor and google what a carne asada burrito or carne asada fries from San Diego actually are.
The tortilla was like a little bit better than a store-bought tortilla. And when i say that i mean by size and quality. It's just a small burrito for the price. Perhaps the best part of the burrito I had was the flavor of the little meat that was in my carne asada burrito. My friend had the San Diego burrito and the fries were fair. The trick in general is to fry fries a little harder so you can taste the texture in a burrito.
In all fairness, the folks there were super nice. But difficult to park, barely acceptable food, and moderately overpriced, I don't recommend it, nor am I coming back. Definitely recommend at least trying it.
Last bit, apparently Daygos is supposed to be good? I gotta try...
Read moreI ordered corn tacos because I can’t digest wheat. Trust me I soooo wish I could, I am not a fad GFree dieter. I repeated to make sure they got it right. It even showed up on the order screen when ordering as ‘corn’ - awesome.
Guess what, I was not given corn. Want to know HOW I know?
I’m now up sick from having flour tortillas. It tasted off when I got home but I was tired, it was super late, hungry from not eating all day, and I assured myself I made enough of a stink for it to be corn. It’s been YEARS since I’ve had a flour tortilla so I told myself it was in my head. People order certain dishes or specific tacos because they have dietary issues and can’t have other things on the menu. So it goes beyond just getting someone’s order wrong it gets them sick. Now I get to be sick all night and for the next 24-48 so THANK YOU.
*I’ll protect the public from what I’m currently enduring because no one wants to hear that...but would be happy to describe it graphically...
Read moreSuper indeed Great trailer tacos in the middle of downtown near the flagship whole foods. They have a variety of choices in meats and ways of enjoying it TexMex style. Burritos to tacos, chicken, barbacoa, carne guisada and carnitas. The prices are cheap at less than 5 dollars for a generous taco portion. You get a good serving of meat along with some additional veggies depending on what you order. The flavor of the meats are a bit on the bland side, they let their sauces provide that compliment of flavor. One mild tomatillo and one red spicy. I like the street tacos as they allow me to choose the meat, pretty straightforward taco. It's in a cute setting with a live music stage that offers shade in the heat. Don't know if they ever have live music but it's neat. Highly...
