Jake's Pickup — Restaurant in Bainbridge Island

WOW! I try to eat organic, GF and dairy free if possible. I can’t believe how good this very nutritious, clean meal was- AT A GAS STATION! I asked if they could make the pulled pork sandwich a lettuce wrap and they offered to make it a salad on arugula. I let the chef choose the best sauces/dressing- he used some banana sweetened ginger cilantro dressing he had made up and s little soicy sauce and bbq on the side. It was outstanding. They even have a little spot outside that’s reasonably nice to eat and if people wouldn’t leave their engine running g in the parking lot or smoke next to you while you were eating or if you weren’t hearing the construction noise from across the street it would be quite lovely. It was definitely way better than any other gas station seating options...

Terrible customer service. This place is plain weird. We were looking forward to the famous food, but one employee got very aggressive. He started explaining every item on the entire menu and would not stop. My daughter said "thank you" and clearly moved away and he continued yelling at her in a harrassing way across the store. Maybe desperate for a sale? The cashiers gawked at her and just stared and then were condescending when she tried to ask a question. Thought this place was friendly to travelers! Think twice if you expect basic...

Definitely worth it to stop at this gem of a place in a Chevron station! I know I know what you're thinking, restaurant inside a gas station?? No way.. we say way and it was pretty dope! The young employees are directed soundly by the owner Jake who is an awesome guy! After we ordered he even checked with us to check if all food was to our liking! We ordered the special egg Sammy and the tuna melt which were superb. Looking forward to seeing these folks again on our next trip...
