My boyfriend and I went here as a celebration for his job promotion and let me tell you, I will definitely return. The moment you walk in the atmosphere shifts, it's a wonderful ambiance, the service is very pleasant. We had a reservation and was taken back early. To start we had lemonade and iced green tea. The lemonade tasted hand squeezed and so fresh. The iced green tea was so refreshing and even though it's unsweetened, you could finish the whole glass without a care! For apps we selected a few to try, the gyoza, tempura avocado, cucumber salad, and some miso soup. 3 of those were a 10/10. The gyoza did not even need a sauce it was wonderful, the cucumber salad was marinated in a beautiful sauce, the miso soup was so flavorful. The only item I rated lower was the avocado tempura, purely for the fact it comes paired with a creamy sauce, personally I used the gyoza ponzu sauce for it and it was much better! For sushi items we got the Salmon Lover, Seared Salmon, and Red Dragon. All rolls were delicious, seared salmon was our favorite and red dragon was our least. But we would still consume them all again. The rolls are pricey at $26 per roll, however, you get a HUGE piece of fish laid atop the rice and real crab in every piece. Just on the size alone it's worth it. For dessert we had sesame balls, fresh and so so tasty! My boyfriend also got the pork katsu donburi togo for his lunch and that was amazing even...
Read moreI was going to give three stars but decided on two given that I spent $60 for a meal worth maybe $30. I came hoping and expecting to be impressed. I left feeling disrespected and that my time and money had been wasted.
I say am an empty sushi bar and waited over 30 minutes for my food. The cuts off Nigiri I eventually recorded were small and the Atlantic salmon belly I ordered came an regular Atlantic salmon which was almost flavorless. The roll I ordered had a pittance of salmon inside and was worth maybe $12 of the $22 it cost. They brought the wrong beer. The sushi chef behind the counter never interacted with me and seemed cold and hostile. I noticed multiple groups that ordered after me get their food before me and they got large, beautiful creations while I got a stale near flavorless pittance. Admittedly I’m a tattooed veteran so maybe I was unwelcome for that. The whole experience left me remembering how cliquish and unwelcoming Bainbridge has always felt to me. I won’t be recommending...
Read moreA lot of 4-5 star ratings but really curious as to why. This place isn’t truly a “Japanese” restaurant with many Korean items on the menu. That’s usually an immediate indicator it’s not “Japanese!” Also, the head sushi chef wasn’t trained IAW traditional Japanese acceptable sushi standards, not to mention a few “amateurs” behind making nigiri and makis. The sushi was definitely not fresh and all the raw fish was room temperature - a bit concerning. They do have a few more variety of sushi so that’s a plus but the medium and full fatty toro was way below standards and hard to eat. For the two of us, it cost 190$ - not the most expensive but more then we would usually pay for subpar sushi. The customer service was FANTASTIC and definitely was the best part. We tried it because of the 4+ rating …. I have to honestly say, they get this rating as most Americans have little clue what “good and great sushi” is! Worst part, the quality of rice was of low grade. 3 stars and likely will...
