This was my first time to angry barnyard and I went for their take on a chef salad for lunch. I saw the option on the ubereats and website menus, but decided to just drive over since my job is close enough. When I got there, the lady at the front informed me that there was no chef salad at that location. So I asked what other salad they had and she mentioned a summer salad. This was a little confusing since I visited their website and the menu is completely different in person. So I stepped to the side and had to figure out what I was going to eat instead. I have celiac disease so I always do my research BEFORE going to any restaurant. I was disappointed in the inconsistency in information. I saw that they had a "corn salad" which is really just elote taken off the cob. So I ordered that and a loaded tater with brisket, minus the chili beans, just in case there were any allergens. I asked if there was any allergy information on the bbq sauces, but there was no helpful info there. My order came out quickly and looked amazing. Unfortunately, the brisket was 90% fat. Not appetizing at all. So I basically had a huge baked potato with traces of meat. The corn salad was really good though, and ended up being the main course instead of a side. My suggestion to them is please make the menus visible for both locations on your website and please find a way to supply allergy information to your customers.

Simply Amazing Barbecue!! đŸ€ŒđŸŒđŸ”„ The Brisket was smoked to perfection, plenty marbled, the right amount of char, & cut thic by a pro! The flavor stands on its own and the meat was flaky, juicy, fork tender greatness
You Gotta try all 4 sauces. Gentleman’s Classic has a light pour, great tang, & just the right mild kick at the end. Sassy Southerner shows her sauce a little thicker with a bigger kick and a hug at the beginning followed by smooth sweetness at the end, makes sense đŸ˜…đŸ”„ Unique rotating side menu, I got to try the tomato pie with amazing flaky crust top. And the classic potato salad was creamy, lightly seasoned refreshing. Ring the bell at the door if you know what’s up with flavor TownđŸ€© The Banana Pudding Cake was fluffy yellow cake, topped with the banana pudding custard style w crumbled cookies on top. I've been in California for 3 months and I've been looking for legit Tri-Tip. Finally found it at Angry Barnyard. What a great place. The Tri-Tip was moist and juicy and spiced just right so as not to overpower the flavor of the meat. The meat stood on its own -- which it should -- without any sauce. But their sauces are delicious -- a traditional BBQ, a spicy BBQ, a Carolina honey mustard, and a mayo based sauce with a hint of horseradish that they call Alabama White, which paired best with the Tri-Tip. The ribs were good, too. Tender with a crispy molasses bark. Again, the ribs were good just as they are, but paired nicely with the traditional style sauces. The sides were well done, the cornbread was spot on with just a dab of butter on top. They even had sweet tea. Highly recommended. 2 thumbs 👍 I'll definitely be back.

TLDR - Horrible Customer Service

I wish I could give this place a great review because I am all for new restaurants coming to this side of town and breathing new life into it. When I saw that a there was a new Barbecue place, my personal favorite food, I was extremely excited to try it. Right when we opened the door, I felt like I wasn't wanted there. The person who took our order seemed annoyed with us and was very unhelpful. This is a new restaurant so I expected to see smiling faces and someone who was excited to talk about the menu with new customers. This lack of enthusiasm is made even more confusing considering this is a family restaurant and you would think these recipes were dear to their hearts.

After completing our order we asked for waters and they told us they only have bottled. I didn't even know this was legal, but they explained it was because they were a take away establishment. Even so, this just doesn't sit right with me. Complimentary water is such an easy thing you can do for your customers, heck even nail salons will provide to their customers, that not providing it makes it feel like they don't have the customers happiness in mind.

Moving on, we sat outside and I guess they forgot about us because after receiving our order of the Corn Salad and Texas Caviar, which was suppose to be with our sandwich, but whatever, we waited for an additional 15 minutes until we had to walk inside and ask where our sandwich was. At no point during the time we were outside did anyone check on us or ask us how we were doing. Which I understand, they are a take-away restaurant but if someone had done this, we would have been happy to let them know that we were missing a sandwich. When we finally received our sandwich, which I guess was waiting for us inside because the person was able to give it to us right when we asked for it like a magical sandwich fairy, it was lukewarm and had no sauce. Which is crazy, because the place has 4 amazing sounding sauces on display. I'm not sure if we were suppose to ask for them, but is that really something the customer needs to ask for at a BBQ restaurant. I mean come on, it's a barbecue restaurant, you expect amazing sauces and I was really let down to be give a dry sandwich. Also, our request to have the sausage on the side as it was a 3-pepper wasn't done, but that is very small something that I can easily forgive.

All in all, I am willing to give this place another chance. I liked the food, but my boyfriend who accompanied me said he would never go again based of this experience which I understand.

It seems like this place has good reviews of people who were given awesome customer service, even one where a dog was given free water which we weren't even offered! That's amazing! Again, I wish I had that experience, I came in excited and left utterly disappointed and unappreciated by an establishment that I had chosen to give my business. This experience has broken...

I'm huge on BBQ and I must say this place has the best BBQ in Bakersfield. And I've tried them all my area. I would say Porkchop and Bubba's BBQ being my number 2. My only big complaint is the lady with the dark hair who's always at the front counter is VERY rude. I guess the name "angry" in their name really holds up. Almost every time I ask if they have the brisket point. She always replies with some type of rude snarky reply. Also, God forbid you ask for BBQ sauce she replies back "Well you didn't specify in your order, so NO, there's none with your food. Next time be specific with your order" type of response. And shouldn't BBQ sauce when you order ribs should be included automatically? And their BBQ sauce is always served ice cold which is weird because any other place is always warm or room temperature. Their brisket is to die for is the only reason I keep coming back. Sometimes their rude services makes me not want to come back. It's sad how businesses never treat their customers with kindness because we are the ones that keep them in business. I thought maybe the lady was having a bad day but I've been here at least 10 times now and it's always the same type of vibe. I hope management can fix this or it will be an amazing...
