I haven’t even dined here (YET) but 5 stars for Aziz! One of my close friends has been wanting to try the viral Dubai chocolate bar and I went online searching for a place in the Baltimore area that has it. I found the most obscure Reddit post pointing me in the direction of Cazbar, and when I stopped in, I asked for the large bar which was $20. I mentioned that it was a gift and Aziz asked if the person I was buying it for had tried it before. When I said no, he said “ask much as I would like to make a bigger sale, maybe you should get the smaller one which is $7 and then you can come back if they like it.” It may have seemed like a small thing to him but to me, that meant so much. I’ve worked in the hospitality industry for 14 years now and people like that are hard to come by. I ended up getting 2 of the small bars with the promise that I would absolutely be back to dine and catch a belly-dancing show. Whether she likes the chocolate or not, I’m really glad I stumbled upon Cazbar. Shoutout...

We had 3 different servers, only one of which knew what they were about, and once we received our entrees we didn't see anyone again for almost 30 minutes (so no cocktail refills). The food was excellent, however, and I've got no real complaints on that front. The baba ghanoush & hummus were delicious, the bread was fresh and crispy. The meats, from the lamb to the chicken and kofte, were fresh, tender, and perfectly cooked. The desserts were also very good, tho I can't really recommend the "baklava cheesecake"; the texture was awful. The baklava itself was great, tho, definitely on par with the best I've ever had. So yeah, I recommend it. Just be prepared for a crowded space and cocktails that are tasty but not particularly strong. Didn't see the belly dancers... so no opinion...

My guest and I chose The Sultans Platter, which consisted of mezzes (appetizers), a platter of grilled meats with rice, and desert. The mezzes were a platter of 7 different authentic Turkish dips served with warm, soft, crusty bread. They were absolutely divine. Additional bread was served upon request. The grilled meats were excellent... chicken, beef, lamb, and shrimp. The only complaint is that the shrimp were overcooked and mushy. On my next visit I will be sure to ask them to cook the meats lightly. Culturally, they cook meats well done to eliminate bacteria. So, it is my fault for not asking. But overall, i enjoyed every last bite. The baklava was ok. It should have had some crunch, but even without that extra crunch, it was a flavorful compliment to end a great meal.
