This place is located within the Mount Vernon Market Place! I was passing through Baltimore and had to stop by to cure my fried seafood cravings!
I got up to the counter and ordered the Tots N Tentacles as a starter and the Real MVP as my main meal. Then waited about 15 min to pick up my order. While waiting, my friends and I took a seat in the tables within the market place.
Service friendly staff at the counter! my order was ready quickly! There was only one chef making everyone's order hot and ready to go!
Ambiance went on a Sunday afternoon and surprisingly there weren't too many people eating lunch in the market place. plenty of seating good lighting
Food! Tots N Tentacles: this app was full of hot and crispy tater tots and calamari! It was seasoned just right with salt and a squeeze of lemon added some brightness. This order is perfect to share or perfect for a main meal The Real MVP: this was such a delicious sandwich. The fried steak fish was super hot and crispy and seasoned well! The cheese Mayo and lettuce tied the whole sandwich together Crab Imperial Dip- tried some of my friend's dip and it truly was heaping with crab! I loved that they went light on the mayo and let the crab shine through. I'd also love to have this in a sandwich.
If you are looking for a fried seafood spot tin Baltimore definitely stop...
Read moreI’ve been eyeing Fishnet ever since their extremely photogenic fish sandwiches started appearing in my Instagram feed, and I finally got one of those perfect sandwiches for lunch today. I ordered the Baltimore Bomber with the lemon dill mayo and a side of mac and cheese, both of which were absolutely perfect. I ordered it through Grubhub, so I was a bit nervous the fish might get soggy on the drive to my house, but that concern was totally unfounded. The fish was perfectly crispy and still hot when it arrived, and I appreciated that they packed the aioli on the side (as I requested) so the sandwich roll it came on didn’t get soggy. Every component of the sandwich was fresh and perfectly complemented the fish—from the thinly sliced onions to the crispy romaine lettuce to the delightfully fresh and light aioli. The Mac and cheese was perfection as well, with a slight smokiness from the Gouda and the surprisingly tasty addition of green onions to top it off. I truly enjoyed every bite of my lunch from Fishnet, and I will 100% be ordering from here again and again. If you’re like me and have been eyeing this place for awhile, do yourself a favor and go get yourself one of those perfect looking fish sandwiches—I promise you, they taste even better...
Read moreFishnet disappoints every time. My Sunday ritual/treat is fish and potatoes. I feel disappointment with each bite of fishnet’s fish and chips. Same story- limp fries and unseasoned fish in a town known for Old Bay. I let go of this routine disappointment by reasoning that at least I supported a black -owned business. I reason that the target audience are drunk Chads and not a lucid brutha from North Ave to take the sting away of wasting my money. I can’t help but lament that the best choice would have been some lake trout from a hole in the wall. I never feel joy from this food and I Iove a good fish fry. Additionally, staff are stingy/upcharge with the tiny sauces. Feels like being taxed for the initial fish having a lack of flavor. Every time I eat here I wonder if the creatives behind the concept are from Baltimore bc of routinely unseasoned fish and puny sauce containers. Creatives should do complimentary old bay or celery salt or something. Music was fire tho! But again, I grew up with my momma sending me to the store for chicken boxes, lake trout and jumbo shrimp all fried hard. Fishnet is in its soft era and that is okay for the New Baltimore girlies but the wise and hip folk are not impressed and are rather bored with a shop that cant...
