Peter's Inn was a good meal, but holy @#$& is it expensive for what you get. Our table ordered three steaks at the server's recc since Peter's is "known for them," but I can't say they were worth the price given steaks I've had at other restaurants in the city. The tomahawk was twice as expensive as the NY strip, but only seemed to only have a little.bit more meat. Most of the added cost seems to just be for the bone, so I'd 100% recommend steering clear of that steak if you really are jonesing for one. I was disappointed by the steak sides in particular because all three were served with cookie cutter steamed veg + pomme puree. Kind of lazy to me given that the plates ranged from $44 -$82. Also, one of the steak plates in particular had an unpleasantly stringy/tough batch of green beans compared to the other two plates. Not sure why that plate was so different. Also, the tomahawk was served with a really random jar of beets...??? ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ Still confused about how that fit in. I personally ordered small plates of fois gras, braised short rib, and nduja with various fixings over toast. Everyone agreed that the short rib was the best plate we got. Jus was to die for. ๐ŸคŒ Fois gras was good, but the portion of it was really small + was overwhelmed by the sweetness of the marmalade and accompanying fruit. Nduja was pretty tasty, but was kind of difficult to eat due to the hardness of toast they served it on. I'd still recommend it though. We also ordered the house salad + four slices of the garlic toast that reviews raved on and on about. The salad was well-dressed and refreshing. The bread was good, but I can't say that I found it to be a must-have. This might be blasphemous, but it honestly reminded me of those take-and-bake garlic breads you get in the grocery store. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ We also ordered a martini, Manhattan, and grapefruit margarita. The first two were on point, but the margarita was kinda rough. The service was really pleasant though and the bathroom was interesting. ๐Ÿ˜† TL:DR; Get anything but the tomahawk steak and you will probably be okay with the meal (and hit to your wallet ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ’ธ).

Our experience at Peter's Inn was disappointing, primarily due to the owner's apparent lack of understanding of good customer service. It was our first time here. According to their website, outdoor seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis, while indoor dining can be reserved. Given this information, we did not specify our seating preference when making our reservation, assuming indoor seating would be allocated as appropriate. Upon arrival, we were surprised to find ourselves seated outside. When my husband questioned the waitress about this discrepancy, she simply informed us that indoor seating was not an option. There was no attempt to apologize for the oversight. On a hot and humid night, we would have preferred to dine indoors with air conditioning or at least a fan. Additionally, with an approaching storm, we requested to at least move to the only outdoor table with an umbrella, but our request was denied by the wait staff. When we ask what if it started raining while we were dining, the waitress reiterated that they did not have indoor seating and called the owner. His response was unexpectedly confrontational; upon his arrival, he accused us of being rude to his staff, although he was not present during our conversation with the waitress. His exact words were: I am very close to asking you to leave because you have been rude to my staff. Feeling frustrated by his unwarranted accusation, we decided to leave. With several other dining options nearby, we saw no reason to support an establishment managed by such an arrogant person, that apparently has a history of reservation issues as noted in multiple reviews. Throughout the entire interaction, neither the waitress nor the owner offered an apology for the confusion or inconvenience caused.

This is the first restaurant I have ever walked out of, and I actually still feel a little guilty, but I did at least pay for our drinks.

My boyfriend and I had been looking forward to going there for weeks. We got there last night at about 8:45. It's a tiny restaurant (And when I say tiny, I mean, you're crammed in like sardines - At one point, we considered putting our water on the floor because there was no room on the table for anything), but we were able to sit right down when we got there. We ordered some wine and the Parker rolls with bacon jam (these were amazing). Our server stopped by and asked if we knew what we wanted and we said we needed a couple more minutes to decide. Well a "couple more minutes" turned into about 25. No big deal, I get it, there were only two or three servers and he was busy. We eventually ordered a NY strip medium rare and the Tagliatelle pasta. And some more wine. By now it's about 10PM, and all the other tables in this tiny restaurant have their food - Except us. They finally bring out the pasta. (JUST the pasta.) It was lukewarm and I'm 99.9% sure it was Ragu sauce from a jar. If it wasn't they need to hire a new chef stat. We wait another 5-8 minutes or so, and my boyfriend's steak never came. So I put some money on the table for the wine and we walked out. The waiter chased us down the sidewalk to confront us and said the reason it took so long was because we ordered an appetizer and didn't know what we wanted immediately. No apology. So that was awkward.

So, so...
