Tio G's Chimi and Empanadas — Restaurant in Baltimore

I was looking for something filling today after a good workout. I knew R house had some good food vendors, so I headed right over. I've had several of the vendors, but I wasn't settled on anything in particular. I decided to try TioG's.

They were very friendly and explained to me what pernil( seasoned pork). I ended up ordering the roasted chicken as part of the Dominican platter with an empanada on the side.

Cooked to perfection. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, and came with a side salad, rice, and plantains. For the price, it was very filling and delicious.

I finished the meal with the steak and cheese empanada. One of the best empanadas I've had, hands down. I can see why it's in the name of the restaurant!

Last week I was at R House with a large group of friends and Chef G took such good care of us. From good conversation to personalized hospitality he was on top of things. And the food?? Delectable. You can tell that everything we had was made with love and care and we had quite a lot of food. I had the seafood empanadas, tostadas, and guava and cheese - all excellent. Tio G's is my favorite food stall at R-House (followed by BRD and Taharka) and their empanadas are, in my opinion, the best available in Baltimore. Pretty much everything is made fresh and to order. The empanadas always very flavorful and juicy, especially the beef, chicken, and pepperoni empanadas. They're also generously filled. The tostones are also amazing and one of the few places in Baltimore where you can get them. The lemonade is PHENOMENAL and goes great with rum.
