CARIBBEAN SOUL FOOD. Food is very good. Go here for the food! the food is great. Dont let the stars turn you away They deserve some grace being just open. Im on a work trip and went here twice. First time I chanced upon the restaurant while walking along the waterfront. The place is brand new and they were not fully set up yet. I asked for a menu, and the tiny menu they have is only partial. GO TO THE WEBSITE FOR THE ONLINE MENU to get all they offer. My First night I ordered the Coco bread, and the jerk chicken pizza. For desert I ordered the sweet potato cornbread with cinnamon ice cream. I was impressed with the few things I had and had a great conversation with the manager and told him I may be back. The cornbread was incredible. the pizza was very good. and I love the coco bread. I Had to come back and bring my colleagues with me. The second trip I brought my colleagues with me. the food was very good but the service was very poor. They were catering a party nearby and didnt plan it well and as a result, the service was extremely poor. I need to give them grace as they are just starting out, but they need to train people that serve. The young man who was serving us had NO experience and I had to go to the counter 3 times to get things we asked for 2 or 3 times. Too much to detail, I'll just say they need a lot of work here. But the place has real potential.. they would have gotten a 4th star were it not for the service being so bad. But the food was very good. I wish they had a place like this in Boston. This is not a chain, at least not yet. We ordered all kinds of dishes to share and try. I ordered the Rasta Pasta with salmon. I loved this. salmon was spiced nicely and not dried out. Pasta had a nice kick to it. I also ordered the oxtail tacos. these were served with a pineapple Pico and a sacue both on the side. they were good, no great. We ordered chicken wings, and oxtail cheese (like a steak and cheese with pepper and onion, except with oxtail. The whole meal was good. The only dish I think that was poorly done is the Fried lamb chops. the meat was so dried out, there wasnt much to bite into. As a result, it had no texture and very little taste. (think the turkey scene on "Christmas Vacation")... This was the only item that was a dud on the menu. Aside from the poor service on a busy night for them, the food I would rate as true to Caribbean style, and ABOVE AVERAGE and very creative combinations. I recommend the Rasta Pasta with salmon, and the sweet potato cornbread with cinnamon ice cream. I highly recommend the coco bread. made with sweetend coconut milk. In short, go here to eat the food and for the creative menu. For their creativity, I would give 5 stars. I think with more prep and some training for their servers, they would...
Read more7/26/2024 - MORE LIKE WAITING TO EXHALE 😮💨 So since my first visit on 6/19/2024, the owner of this establishment or someone who claimed to be the owner, name Tyra, reached out to me via text message. Tyra and I had some dialogue via the text message, which I will not share on this review, but the message I received from her interest in texting me was that she did not appreciate my review.
In fact, Tyra offered to refund me the money I paid for the first visit on 6/19/2024 (Juneteenth) and she offered her opinion as to why she believe my experience was the way that it was. I informed Tyra that I was not interested in the money being refunded to me because the soul purpose of me traveling over 70 miles (round trip) to support her business was in the spirit of Juneteenth.
After careful consideration of our dialogue via text message, I compromised within myself and decided to give this location another try. BAD IDEA!
I sent a text message to the same phone number Tyra and I exchanges messages in June prior to me traveling again to Baltimore. This time, the person on the text message said that “Tyra” was not at work this day 7/26/2024. However, I ordered $78 worth of food and the Raman noodles was $23. The 6 wings was $14 etc. the Raman noodles were literally the same noodles you get 12/$1. 😡 see pictures. The oodles of noodles and the small portion of oxtails was not a value of $23 and as you can see in the pictures, the same type of oodle of noodles are consistent in each picture. This is a rip off!!!

6/19/2024 - First time patronizer - Last time visitor I wanted to patronize this establishment on Juneteenth because it was advertised in the Washington Post. Although I like more than 45 miles away in Prince George’s County, MD, I wanted to honor the spirit and the faith of supporting soul food restaurants.
However, I informed the lady who took my order that I was coming from Prince George’s County and she understood how far of a distance it was because she said she will hold off on putting my order together about can be hot and she will text me when the order was ready.
Well lo and behold, she texted me like 35 minutes later and I texted her and told her I was still on the way. She said I put in the order about an hour ago so she thought I was on my way. Well I was on my way but it’s a freaking holiday and I’m coming from like 10 counties away. Any way, I asked her if she had samples of cabbage and said no but she has cabbage as a side to sell. This is why our businesses cannot project upward and most, if not all, our businesses are horizontal in growth.
I received my order of Oxtail Ramon and it was cold so I didn’t even eat it but I did taste the oxtail pattie. The pattie was good but the business arrangement is...
