UPDATE: City Cruises Baltimore offered me a free and special cruise to make up for the experience. They have since dropped off the face of the earth. The person who offered me the free cruise no longer works there and the replacement never returned my calls or responded to my emails. I have no idea who writes these reviews but this experience on the Spirit of Baltimore was absolutely awful. First, no ID's were checked so there was no accountability as to who was on the vessel. That is not safe for anyone. The food was just plain nasty. It was "mom and pop," certainly not restaurant or catering standard. The bathroom area smelled so badly you could smell a hint of the funk throughout the vessel. The roof of the vessel leaked right on my jacket like a shower. A security issue erupted when a lady became angry with her date and other companions and began screaming and a fight was about to break out. A nice crew member came to her and was trying to assist her to a private area when the woman fell down. Her angry date eyeballed everyone for the rest of the cruise, standing just looking like he could turn into an active shooter at any moment (keep in mind, there was no accounting of who was on the vessel, no ID's checked). They promised live entertainment, yet that turned out to be the staff dancing like they were at some DC Go Go or rock concert. This was supposed to be a "Valentine" cruise, nothing romantic about it, nothing! The parking validation did not work, we paid full price for parking. The only thing good I can say is "most' of the staff were very friendly and accommodating and also professional, except our server who became angry because we waited for coffee and iced tea for over 30 minutes and got coffee and hot tea. She became very snappy for no apparent reason. The attire was supposed to be a mix of formal casual (slacks for men), but to be honest its an any thing goes attire. You can dress as if you're going to the strip club. You can also bring your weed and/or crystal meth if you want, nobody cares. This is advertised way above the actual quality and it wasn't cheap, it just turned out to be a cheap experience. I would not recommend. I came home with stomach cramps from the food and can still smell the funk from the restroom area (the morning after) and woke up today with no...

My daughter used City Cruises of Baltimore for her wedding last fall. She also paid to use their wedding planner. We were all set to travel to Baltimore and enjoy a cruise when, a few days before the wedding, she was advised that the Baltimore Marathon would be held on her wedding date. The streets surrounding the boarding dock and most parking garages would be closed due to the Marathon. The Marathon was a huge event which had to be scheduled months, if not a year in advance. The company had to have known about it well in advance, yet she was advised of this just days before the wedding!!!. The company later claimed that the route was finalized just days before her wedding. I find that very hard to believe. But even if the exact details were finalized days before the wedding, the company certainly knew the Marathon was being held in that area and had an obligation to inform her of the potential logistical nightmare. But they did not. They took her money and made no mention of the Marathon to be held that day. They left her in the lurch with no recourse. Guests spent hours trying to find their way to the dock due to all the closures caused by the Marathon. I had serious mobility issues and was scheduled for surgery in two weeks. Somehow I pushed through and made it to the dock —I did not want to miss my daughter’s wedding. When I got there, I saw my 90-year old brother-in-law, my 86 year-old sister, my 84-year old brother, and numerous other relatives in their 70’s and 80’s standing in the cold rain waiting to board. The company had told guests to arrive early due to the marathon but did not arrange to allow the guests to board early. I’m not sure how long they had to wait outside in the cold rain but it was a minimum of a half hour, and probably much longer. They even asked me to wait outside in the rain but I told them I was the mother of the bride and just walked up the gang plank — they did not dare to try to stop me. There were other things that did not go as had been agreed upon, issues with the timing, the DJ, etc. But to me, the failure to advise her in advance of the fact that there would be closures due to the Marathon was unforgivable. The stress and discomfort that caused for so many of the guests was inexcusable and extremely unprofessional. I would not trust this company to...

Hello. We are post our dinner cruise held on Sunday, October 20th on the City Cruise of Baltimore Dinner excursion and VERY pleased with our experience! We had a party of about 17 ppl and was greeted with delighted, patience, and great customer service! We were celebrating my grandmothers 80th Birthday which she was extremely happy as well. Let me point out a few of the cruise attendants that made our experience such a good one!!!! First, our server Chi was so sweet, patient, kind, personable, and very good at what she does! Second, the manager Durriyyah was also a very kind, patient, and generous person! Third, our Bartender in which I hope I am spelling her name correctly, Kiji or Kiya. So sorry about not knowing for sure, but she was a pleasure as well. :-) Fourth, our DJ ERIC.... SOOO super cool and knew what he was doing. Was a good MC and played music for EVERYBODY! VERY personable as well!!! Fifth, Lamont, was another crew mate and he made sure that we were comfortable and taken care of. He helped take our group pictures! He was funny and had great conversation. There was one last female in which I cannot remember her name to save my life, but she was the one who saw us at the dock, noticed that we were in a group, offered to take our picture together, danced with us for a little bit to show us the "cruises line dances" and just showed us love! She is a Caucasian lady who was dressed in a red uniform top! We love her as well! EVERY aspect of this trip was made extraordinary due to these individuals. I did not expect to have THAT much fun. I would like to give a shout out to the captain and his crew as well and the chef! Food was great and the captain got us there and back, safely! I didn't obviously get to meet them, Would have loved to! It would of been our pleasure! :-) The captain drove that boat like it was a car! Great job Cap! ;-)

The representatives on the phone that I bothered often calling in to make sure that our party was set, was also AMAZING! Overall, great...

Let's get right down to business. The cruise was an out and back to the Francis Scott Key bridge. Sights were good and they had some games on the upper deck. They could have used some more seating though. The second floor is where the DJ was located. Music played during the meal was good but we went up to before the real dance music got started. The staff seemed like the were glad to be there and not just there for a pay check. It was good to see them smile. Super impressed with the buffet. I wish I had room for more. The veggies were my favorite. Salmon was also good along with the sweet dinner rolls. There were a nice assortment of desserts. I can't imagine you not being able to find one you like. The body was in good condition. Clean and well maintained. Everything was on time. Starting with a boarding at 11:30 and they took off close to 12. Apparently they were waiting on someone but they couldn't make it in time and we left the dock without them. They showed up right as we were out but they didn't go back to pick them up. Let that be a lesson to you. Leave ahead of schedule to be on time. We did the lunch trip and I would say for the cost seemed slightly high. The port charges were crazy. But compared to the night trip this was a much better value. My only suggestion would be again for the upper deck to have more tables and seating. Also it might be nice to have someone on board who can give information about the sites we're seeing. Maybe something like a tour Guide but only once in a while during the trip. Go check it out for yourselves.

Wonderful dinner cruise for my mom’s birthday. Price wasn’t bad per person $119, food was good and a decent size buffet selection. We all had a wonderful time and her day was great. We will be back! Thank you for a lovey time!

There was a large number of active pot smokers, so many that it was not possible to get away from the stench. Crew members and security would walk past the pot smokers and through the pot smoke and not say a word to any of them about the illegal activity. I am military and was off duty for the weekend but am subject to drug testing at any time without notice. Being exposed to all the pot smoke has potentially put me at risk when I return to my base even though I have never touched, used or smoked pot in my life and have no intention of changing that in the future either. The music onboard was limited to Rap and Hip Hop with a focus on "song" lyrics that were sexually explicit with multiple instances of 4 letter cuss words. The bar drinks were very expensive with a Long Island Ice Tea being served in an 8 oz cup packed full of ice for $14 and a half shot of whiskey being $8. The bar staff did not seem to know any of the prices and either had to look them up on the computer or make them up along the way. My girlfriend and I had booked our trip on the 2 hour moonlight cruise hoping for some scenic relaxation on the water, a wider variety of music played to dance to on the dance floor, or at least a much more romantic type of atmosphere since this was promoted as a "Midnight Cruise". Definitely will be seeking a refund and will not return.
