While riding my bicycle from Portland to San Francisco, Mark and I are always in need of great food. We stopped at the grocery store for the usual banana buy and asked the checker for the best place in town to eat. He said the station! After you turn left and go down the hill it’s on your right. We headed off. Got in before closing, sat down, ordered from a pleasant, great personality and attractive lady, waited for our food. Noticed a busy place, with some young high school age kids helping being very attentive. I ordered my toast, burnt! Got my 4 eggs scrambled to perfection, hash browns perfectly cooked. Mark got pancakes, eggs and sausage… those cakes looked really good. Noticed, I had not got my burnt toast, I was so hungry, the food tasted so really good, I ate it all without the toast. Mentioned it to one of the young helpers, waited a few minutes still no burnt toast. The waitress came buy and asked how is everything, great I said but no burnt toast. She said can I get you anything, how bout pancakes, with a joking tone in my voice, no problem she said. Next thing I know, get my burnt toast, start chowing down. Finished my first piece, she comes back with a smile and two large pancakes, that covered the whole plate. I ate them both. Found out she was the owner, she was awesome. Stop and enjoy the food an a witty owner that wants you to enjoy her...
Read moreWe tried the Station Restaurant on a recent Wednesday morning. We arrived around 8:30 and were able to be seated immediately. When we left about 45 minutes later, there was a line of people waiting. Our waitress mentioned it is often busy, so get there early. What I liked about the Station? The ambiance! Total diner vibe with a Train Station theme. There are lots of signs and artwork to remind you of a train depot. They have a soda fountain counter like you would see in an old drugstore or diner. Their chocolate milk was excellent. The prices seemed reasonable compared to other restaurants post COVID. I also loved the service. We were sat promptly. A server brought us out waters and took our beverage orders. A waitress came by right after that. She checked in on us multiple times. We could see she was busy but she always took the time to check in on us. What could have been improved? The food. I had biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were fine, but honestly, that gravy was not good. Grainy, not sure what the flavor was, but I would not call it sausage flavor. I was really disappointed by these. We also had the sausage and eggs. It was fine, but we usually clean our plates and this time it was, 'eh, I'm good'. You'll definitely want to add some salt and pepper. If they can get the food quality up to match the ambiance and the service, then this place...
Read moreMy partner and I decided to stop here for our first breakfast stop of our two week golf trip here in Bandon. I have to say, this was some of the best breakfast and lunch foods we have had in a while! Diana was our server and she was super polite and attentive, and we were sat pretty quickly considering many reviews stated they would be busy during the weekends. The Resturant has a super cute “small town feel” to it and as Texans we found that to be super enjoyable, considering we value “southern hospitality” and weren’t expecting to find much of that in these parts! The food itself was fresh and came out pretty quickly, I had the California club as well as a 1/2 chef salad and I must say the greens in the salad along with the ranch were super fresh and very tasty! My partner ordered the French toast breakfast and had inhaled it within 10 minutes-so I would say the food was pretty delicious! I’d like to specially thank the waitstaff, kitchen, and ladies working the front register. We had such a good experience that we decided to get matching mugs for our morning coffee time. I highly recommend...
