Hannaford — Local services in Bangor

FALSE ADVERTISING. We chose to pass 3 other Hannafords and drive 20 minutes to get to this location based on the photos posted here. I can assure you 100% after visiting, that neither the storefront photo provided by the company, nor the fish market photos are form this location. It is MUCH dumpier than it appears in this listing, and the ones we passed were much nicer looking on the outside. Lesson learned. The fish market looked like any average grocery store counter.

They had a VERY poor selection of fresh pre-made meals, only 5 total on the shelf in 3 varieties.

Then when checking out, I was offered paper bags which I declined since we brought our own, and then said I could handle bagging myself. The bagger ended up using my bags to bag my food which I thought was nice of them.

Then I saw the bag......He had placed all of our food (including the fresh pre-made meals) sideways like books to make everything fit on the bottom layer, and then just started throwing random things on top. Needless to say, all of my fresh food slid to one side (thankfully it didnt leak), and had I not fixed it, my ice cream would have spilled all throughout the inside of my bag.

I had to ask him to stop, remind him that I had already stated I would do this myself, and then had to remove EVERYTHING he packed so I could repack myself safely.

We will NOT be going back to this location, and based on the experience, will probably never go back to a Hannaford...

The Hannaford on Broadway in Bangor, Maine is a very clean Hannaford to go to. They have an outstanding Deli and Bakery and there associates are ALWAYS willing to step up and help you and not tell you to take from the little cooler cause they just put it up. #1 If I want it a different thickness sorry it won't be in your cooler. Also my boyfriend is Old School and you get paid to wait on customers as he told me to make sure I have them slice it at tge Deli. Hampden, Maine Deli have given me a hard time on 2 different occasions. One was a young man and once a young female. The female was very very rude and she NEVER GOT IT FOR ME 😠 So I only go there if I really need to now and that's for Soda or water because I would rather spend more in gas then deal...

Worst Hannaford in the area. Found many dates within a few days of expiring. There was bread that was expired and refrigerated pasta growing mold in the bag. Selection was not nearly as good as other stores. I mostly shop on Union Street but have shopped at Broadway and Hampden. This will be the last place I would choose to get groceries. Do yourself a favor shop at the other Hannafords they have a better selection with fresher food with longer expiration dates. I think this place needs to be under new management. Either that or this is Hannaford dumping ground from close to or expired food. I rarley post bad reviews however this...
